Almond bark and chocolate chips are so versatile! You can add mini marshmallows at the end and make your own goo goo clusters...my dad's favorite. You can also line the bottoms of the cupcake liners with crumbled pretzels...add a little extra touch ;)

Hello Lynn, it's 2/20/2021, and I just came across this video. I did not melt this recipe for 3 hours. About 1 1/2 hours in, I could see that the chocolate had melted and there was beginning to have a slight burnt odor so I blended the mixture and it came out fine. Made quit a few clusters. I made some in my mini cupcake tin with liners. The rest I dropped clusters on parchment paper. It worked well either way. I have a question... could these be frozen?
@lynnsrecipes3 жыл бұрын
Slow Cookers sometimes do cook at different temperatures, so it was good that you watched it and noticed that it was done a bit earlier. I have not frozen these. You could probably try to freeze them, but I don't know how they would look or taste after being frozen. Maybe try freezing one and see how it turns out.

I am seriously thinking about making "christmas gift baskets" with all the ingredients in the basket to make this candy. Plus, include a clear cookie jar (with Christmas Crack inside) and the recipe. I have one question! Does it stay "solid" at room temperature or does it have to be refrigerated?

What is the benefit of using a slow cooker vs just using a pot for 20 min? Thanks, asking for a friend.
@lynnsrecipes2 жыл бұрын
I think it tempers the chocolate slowly in a slow cooker. You could try it in a pot - I would just use a very low temperature. Not sure if it would turn out the same, but you could always give it a try. Chocolate burns easily and I think the slow cooker just regulates a slow, steady temperature while the melting occurs.
@leadershiphelpdesk5102 жыл бұрын

@lynnsrecipes10 жыл бұрын
Lisa_Lou66 It is a vanilla flavored candy coating. It is different from white chocolate. You can usually find it in the grocery stores, WalMart and store like that around the Holidays. Michael's usually has it in their baking section all year round. Hope this helps. ~Lynn

This looks delicious. I wonder how it would turn out using something other than peanuts, like maybe rice crispies? My son has a peanut allergy.
@lynnsrecipes10 жыл бұрын
Lisa Barnes I bet it would be delicious with Rice Krispies. My husband thought cashews would be awesome. The chocolate will set up once it is cooled. You can also refrigerate it to get it to set up faster. I would give it a try and just add maybe after you melt the chocolate and just stir and add until you get the consistency you want. I think the peanuts on the bottom of the slow cooker probably keep the chocolate from scorching, but maybe you could melt in the microwave or on the stove to achieve the same thing. Of course, it wouldn't be slow cooker, but would still probably be easy and delicious. Have a great day, Lisa.

My Mom just tried this, with peanut butter chips, white chocolate chips and milk chocolate chips with peanuts. The chocolate burned. Do you have any advice on how to do it right?
@lynnsrecipes7 жыл бұрын
Some slow cookers cook a lot hotter then others. Maybe check after 2 hours and see if all of the chocolate is melted. I haven't had that happen. Also, make sure you have it on your lowest setting.
@lexym6037 жыл бұрын
Mom managed to save most of it, but we're not sure how to help with the actual mixing. I'm the one who was going to mix it up and scoop it into the cupcake pan, and when I went to do it, even the unburned chocolate seemed dry. Do you think mixing in coconut oil or something similar would help or should we just toss it and start over?
@lynnsrecipes7 жыл бұрын
It could possibly be that the German Chocolate squares and the white chocolate almond bark have more oil in them and that is why it was dry. I don't think it would hurt to try to save it with the coconut oil, but I am not sure if that will work or not.
@lexym6037 жыл бұрын
We'll try the coconut oil, then. Not like we can really make it worse, anyway. Thanks for the advice!
@lexym6037 жыл бұрын
Sorry to bother you again. Mom has gotten vanilla almond bark, chocolate almond bark and ghirardelli chocolate premium baking bar of bittersweet. She wants to try dumping what she saved in the slowcooker along with all that. And she says she has evoo too, for whatever help that would be. I think she ought to just buy more nuts and start over. Your advice, if it isn't too much trouble?
