I mailed Gene Odom to sign my book. Then Gene personally called me to check and see if I got the book back. Unbelieveable! We spoke for an hour. I am a big Gene fan. And Bobby was kind enough to answer a question for me on Facebook. Thank you guys!!!

I’ve heard Gene lives in Inverness Florida now…so does my dad…I actually lived on Pritchard Island for 3 years…definitely gonna look Gene up next time I visit my dad…would love to buy Gene a steak dinner and listen to some awesome Skynyrd stories!!!!

2002 my buddy got back from Iraq safely. That summer we went to a Skynyrd concert in Bonner Springs, Kansas. I was 20 years old. Garry Rossington and Johnny Van Zant put on an amazing show. I couldn’t even imagine the shows you guys witnessed. Thanks for the history!

Lee, can you tell me who wrote the lyrics of Free Bird? I have a debate going with a friend who says it was comprised of a break up letter to a band member. I'm thinking it was RVZ and maybe GR.
