Weird. He mentioned there were 21 people on board. 59:10 There were actually 26. But then he does the math on survivors and got that number right. But what is really comical (from a human nature standpoint and not from a tragedy point of view) is the amount of detailed information that comes out with every iteration he and Gene Odom tell the story. Now Artemis is seeing a snake (with the sun setting in a heavily dense canopy of trees, yelling at a snake, laughing at himself for yelling at a snake, rolling over barbed wire, seeing cows, and still sticking to the gun shot story (which he wasn’t treated for because he wasn’t shot.) Perhaps it’s true recollection, perhaps it’s unintentional (or intentional) embellishments. Regardless, I seriously doubt AP’s story of RVZ’s last moments of grabbing a bottle, giving a hippy handshake, and grabbing a pillow to accept his outcome. RVZ was a man, not a god. Anyone about to crash land isn’t going to be flippant about his chances of living or dying.
