@John Gullo I agree Lynyrd Skynyrd band ended 10/19/77. They should have never recorded new material with that name ever again. I had no problem with them touring as Lynyrd Skynyrd with Johnny as lead singer. But out of respect for Ronnie, they continued doing Freebird as an instrumental, as they did with Rossington Collins Band. Just my opinion

GREAT SHOWS BOTH NIGHTS, AFTER BOTH SHOWS I WENT DOWN TO THE CASINO AND WALKED AROUND, I SAT DOWN NEXT TO BILLY POWELL, AND RICKEY MEDLOCKE, PLAYING SLOT MACHINES AND TALKED FOR A WHILE EACH NIGHT. I wonder why they don't talk much about RVZ other daughter Tammy, her song Freebird child is beautiful and Johnny VZ Brickyard Road is a really good song also. I feel like they leave Tammy out of the pic to much, she was 10 years old when he died and she is the one that really new him, Melody was just a little over a year old, in the song Brickyard Road Johnny even talks about Melody and mom and dad but never anything about Tammy

Same sort of thing for me, except I never went to see them. My first concert was IIRC The Outlaws (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sassafras) in Boston Garden, all put on a great show, but LS really had the crowd going. Then I saw Yes ( Peter Frampton, Gary Wright, Lynyrd Skynyrd) outdoors in Chicago, and then in (maybe Irvine) California with the Doobie Brothers and again with AC/DC Motley Crue in San Diego. I met Leon in my living room (in the Los Angeles area) and he showed me how to play the intro to Sweet Home Alabama. I think that they were just preparing for the tour 1987 or 88. Yeah, US Navy, I got to see many of the greats during my travels.

I’m building a guitar from wood from the Hell House original Dock, and foundation from Hell House, and incorporating metal from the plane. Once it’s complete we will loan it out to touring musicians so those timber’s will continue to sing and vibrate. LLLS. Long Live Lynyrd Skynyrd.. if anybody knows Gary Rossington I’d love for him to sign it when complete, or donate a pick, or something I can incorporate into it. Tell him to hit me up...

Give him a break people. So they're not the original members. So what. What they're doing is carrying on the Legacy of the band and judging from the show I saw they're doing it quite well. It would be nice to have Artimus Pyle but even he's not an original member. You could debate this original member nonsense all day it's totally subjective. Myself if I could see Lynyrd Skynyrd as they are right now I would go simply for the Nostalgia of it. And give Gary rossington a break to. Sure he acts like he's on something but the man has been through so much and his drug days are behind him now. You would act Dopey if you were on tons of painkillers to.

@@zero1fifty8 sure so would I. Like I said I'd like to see them just for the Nostalgia of the band. But I heard a story that Gary rossington might be retiring due to some heart trouble. That would be a bummer.
