Ones picked by the originals, such as Gary Rossington. Hell, Rickey Medlocke is close to an original. Played with them in 1971-72 and sang lead on a few songs on their first album. JVZ gets a lot of credit for us even still having LS around right now. Look up when the guys got him to sing when they first got back together in 87. Michael Cartellone been with them since 99. Mark Matejka, 2009. Those guys are there with blessings and earned rights. And you guys are going to ditch them like this?

For all those knocking the current line-up. Rickey & Johnny especially of course have legacy. Hell it's JVZ's DNA. Next, Gary wanted the Legacy to live on. It's a Tribute. Next, NONE of the musicians are 2nd tier slouches. All top notch. Next, LS was a touring, working musicians band. They still are, and LS fans know it's a Tribute now, a DAMN PERFECT ONE, and they love it, love seeing & hearing the songs they Love, live. Last, you don't think Royalties aren't helping family ? Children & Grandchildren & will benefit great grandchildren, maybe beyond ? Ronnie, Allen, Gary, the whole LS family didn't earn that ??? Hell yes they did. It's THEIR legacy, their history, their families, their songs. Who are ANY of us to knock their decisions ? @bbb4ut Artimus was in the reformed band till 1991. Yes, there is bad blood-it's all out there. Artimus hates all the greed involved, Judy, Gary and the rest prevented Artimus from publishing his autobiography, they tried to stop his movie about the crash etc. I'm team Artimus all the way. Too bad Judy didn't stick with the 3 original member rule. Screw any kind of integrity for the bands legacy. Just squeeze every last buck out of it.

I am frigging shocked that they didn't put the camera on Damon Johnson during his solo on That Smell. Gary picked him to take his place and he has done an outstanding job. Most people haven't bothered to research Damon's pedigree. He's a founding member, lead guitarist and lead vocalist of Brother Cane. You know, "Got No Shame"? Good heavens, show him some respect. Skynyrd's bass play is amazing as well. When they audition somebody, you bet your ass they better sound like Skynyrd. They all deserve credit. Stop focusing on Johnny and Rickey and sometimes, Sparky. Michael Cartellone has been in the band longer than Ronnie was.
