This series of videos was more enjoyable than the 10 part "Last Dance" documentary, without question. The expression on the woman's face on the back glass was hilarious. I see why this was the best selling pinball machine ever or at least until the recording of this video. So far, I don't remember viewing a video where you had so much fun playing either a pinball or video game. Great work!!!!!!

I so remember playing this game. Absolutely loved it, but I was not very skilled at going through all the sequences. What drove me to this game as a kid? The traffic lights. If I owned this machine today, I'd find a way of adding my real traffic lights on either side of the cabinet and wiring it into the main system. This is a game where you must say "shut up and take my money!"
@LyonsArcade4 жыл бұрын
That would be pretty cool, I'm sure you could make that happen, the voltage that turns on the lamps could be used to turn on a little relay or something for the large traffic lights...

I love your repair videos, but this table is amazing and I've never seen it before. Fantastic sound effects/music, outstanding lights (especially love the tach in the center), and the layout is great too. Surprisingly fair too, no death lanes on the sides either. Really thank you for showing these tables in all their glory, pinball has always been a love of mine. That searchlight effect is fucking awesome! I can tell you really love these machines too and understand what makes them great with the way you repair them, not necessarily restoring them but making sure the switches are responsive, the flippers smooth and hit hard, pop bumpers always responding etc. Things like that are what make a machine fun to play because nothing is more frustrating than having your awesome skill shot ruined because of an unresponsive sensor or weak coil/spring. Can't even count the number of tables in shitty bars I played with messed up flippers or completely dead pop bumpers that totally ruined the experience. When you're watching the ball fly around who gives a fuck about paint "alligatoring" on the logo!
@LyonsArcade4 жыл бұрын
Yeah man it's one of the absolute best ever, and it was done before they really went crazy with them. It's solid.... just blows my mind what they could pull off way back in 85 or 86 when it was made. I agree with you too on the mechanics, Some of the older EM's I can't really get them to play super fast because they just weren't designed like that anyways, but I try to get everything 'zippy' hahaha. In my personal collection honestly I could care less about alligatoring, etc. Thanks for watching, we appreciate it :)

The video where the Bridge Rectifiers shorted was on your most recent Pin-Bot machine. I had the bridge Rectifiers fused in my High Speed, & Pin-Bot machines. Williams pinball machines were always my favorite to play. Any Fire Pinballs coming in the future? Hello from Phoenix Arizona!

Also I noticed that when you do the left loop the ball would hit something just before the right loop it would hit it about where the Right Jet Bumper is. It should transition smoothly and not hit anything mine I can do loops all day no problem.

The lights sweeping across the playfield ( in a search light mode) happens when you get the score to earn you a free game. Mine is set to 1.4 million. Very cool search light action. It's a real shooters game and plays very fast. trapping the ball for ball control is a must for this game.

When they made the plastic sets a lot of times there would be extra room on the sheet so they'd design something like that, to come with the machine like you said, that's pretty cool they had a contest to give it away, nice!

That was my favorite pinball. Maybe I missed it in your video, but I thought when you ran the red light it gave you multi-ball? Or was that when you had the cops in pursuit and shot it up the ramp to “get away” it started multi-ball which was 3 balls at once right?
@LyonsArcade3 жыл бұрын
When you run the red light the cops get after you, then you run it again to start multiball (I think). I think we did it right at the end.

Apparently this was the first solid--state game to have auto-percentaging for replays. But Williams already had that feature in a pinball as far back as 1949! Who was the guy who always hid a cow in his game designs for Williams?
@Sparky1980253 жыл бұрын
Wow! I just watched the entire video!! And I gotta know...HOW MUCH would it cost to take a machine and restore it like the one you did? Even if a few more issues were wrong, like a couple more multi connectors and the NV RAM, the battery(too keep the highscore), adding the 2 fuses to the rectifiers, plus the bumper coil(23-800) and to replace 44 bulbs with the 47 bulbs? Plus the new siren bulb motor? What would that all cost? I have a williams high speed I need to restored and if that's all that's wrong with it...what am I looking at spending? It lights up but doesn't play . .
@LyonsArcade3 жыл бұрын
It kind of depends on what we run into, low end is about $400 and it might go up to $800 depending on parts cost , etc. If it needs all kinds of work, like it's really beat and needs a lot of new parts, new display, etc. it can go up over $1000, depends on how much new stuff you want on it.
@Sparky1980253 жыл бұрын
@@LyonsArcade thank you so much for responding! Going to bring it in next week. I'll let you know what they say is wrong and the estimate they want to charge me.

I finally dropped it off for repair. The table is in pretty rough shape. But the table its self has missing paint, stickers, burn marks and looks like a clear coat is peeling in spots. The repair guy said he wouldn't be able to fix the aesthetics of the table but the gameplay will be fine like that. It it even possible to refurbish the table itself? Also is there a place to get replacement freeway stickers? One is like half torn off.

Another option for the batteries is to put a socket in and a remote battery pack or even a rechargeable battery pack and remove the diode. Even being a little higher than 5v is ok because a new set of AA batteries will run like 1.85V each so you are looking at a total of about 5.5v when they are new and dead they run like 1.1v or about 3.3 total. It is also possible to put a battery in the base and then setup a separate charge circuit for it and just run the power up to the head. Tons of different ways to do that, LOL. Personally I hate the coin cell batteries. Seems like they are always dead.
