When Strabo sailed around the island of Britain, during the time of Alexander, he named the northern part "Scotland." "Scot" means dark in Greek.

Typical complexo-nationalistic albanian mambo jumbo. You invented clarinet gaida all kinds of dances clothes and musical instruments in the area. All these achievements from a semi barbaric nation, which had no alphabet of its own until 1900 A. C. a nation that usually was attaching to the powerfull of each period (greeks Romans byzantines Turks) in order to be able to steal kill and plunder unpunished. A nation with three religions Muslim orthodox and Catholic with dances and clothes surprisingly looking alike those of their neighbors, but still everything was stolen from them.... Get a brain my friend and come to the 21st century away from the nationalistic bullshitt they serve you in your schools.

When in the 1800s they were asking Arvanites if they were Albanians they were insulted and did not know what exactly that meant. The history you present is forged. Just because you, like the Bulgarians in Skopje have adopted foreign customs and dressings from your neighbors, and try to claim their history, that doesn't mean you have anything to do with those customs. A little bit of study into Albanian history and how the Albanian identity was forged (Which is somehow quite hard to find information outside of Albanian sources), will show that there is nothing original in that land we call Albania. Only Berbers, Persians, Arabs, Greeks, Bulgarians, and Serbs. There is no such thing as Shciptars ( Latin original word : verb excipere, denoting people who speak the same language) or Albanians. In the middle ages, there were 8-10 nationalities in your land and not a common Albanian language. Arvanites, neither today nor back then in the 1800s felt to be anything else but Hellenes.
