Them & Nightwish are definitely at/near the top for ALL my lists...idk what they put in the water in...Scandinavia...but all the bands in that area are epic.

There’s a room in the game Control that just plays this song. It’s awesome!

Excellent breakdown, thank you! Finland's not part of Scandinavia btw. ;) This is one of the game songs they did, featured in the game 'Control'. More Poets breakdowns please. Also check out their alter ego metal band Old Gods of Asgard. And the live songs. And the acoustic Alexander Theatre ones. It's a deep, deep rabbit hole worth diving into.

Ya, I actually own Control and its on my "next up" list, after I finish Elden Ring and Fallout London :)

I actually got into this band a few months ago. Was playing the Alan Wake game and their song 'War' played at the end of a chapter. Sounded epic so I looked into them. Wasn't disappointed! My Dark Disquiet, The Sweet Escape, Carnival Of Rust and so many more great songs. His voice is incredible. Their acoustic album really shows his voice off and the rest of the bands musical talents. A great discovery! 👍

Dude, I am stoked to play Alan Wake 2 when it comes to Steam. First I am making way way through Elden Ring, God Of War Ragnarok, Baldur's Gate 3, and Cyberpunk

Have you played Alan Wake 2 yet? Looove that game, and the music in it is phenomenal!

@k.l.7788 yet to get 2. If it's as epic as the first one I'll be very happy!!

@@Stevieweevietv If you love the first I think the second will blow your mind. But if you can, or haven’t, it would pay off to play at least Control first, Quantum Break maybe also. Remedyverse is a real deal.

Not bad for a band that was only supposed to be fictional lol. Poets made their debut in Max Payne 2 and they were only supposed to be an in universe band but they had so much fun they stayed together after the game was over.
@antonczachorАй бұрын
Damn man, that's awesome! I didn't know that, especially for how much of a masterpiece Carnival of Rust is.
@-breakofdawn-Ай бұрын
Old Gods was supposed to be fictional, not Poets. Marko and Ollie wanted to form a new band after playing in another called Playground together. They wrote Late Goodbye for Max Payne 2 (Marko contributed to Max Payne 1 as well, but not musically, he played the character named Vlad and drew the Captain Baseballbat comics featured in game). Marko's childhood friend Sam Lake then introduced them to "Captain" who worked for Remedy at the time and offered to mix the song. Marko and Ollie were so impressed with the result, they asked him to join their band. The three are the core members of Poets and as trio, they are Old Gods of Asgard which started as fictional band in Alan Wake 1, but has now become a real alter ego project with the release of their first Old Gods album. :)

@@antonczachorI agree about the masterpiece. What's even more impressive is that they have always wanted to remain independent and not sell their souls to one of the big record labels. Everything they did over the last 21 years, they did themselves, albums, videos, songs, artwork, you name it, and all of it masterfully. Keep that in mind while enjoying their elaborate, high quality art. :)
