Nightwish Army, New Zealand Division reporting. I love this song for many reasons. The song writing is great; so much complexity, tempo and key changes, choir, orchestra, it has everything! And, of course, the epic instrument and vocal performance. One of the greatest rock songs ever!

Tuomas Holapainen (the keyboard player) is the mastermind behind composing the music and lyrics for 99% of it all.. he is also the founder of the band.. NW is hes child.. He present it to the other multi talented bandmembers, some correcting might be done, and new stuff added by them, but the main is surely Tuomas.. again he is not a drummer, or a guitar player, so of cause the masters of these instruments might correct him a little here and there.. sometimes he might compose something imposible to play, because he got the talent to compose the right sounds, but he might not always realize how hard it is to play, same with Floor, she sometimes get vocal challenges by Tuomas, and the lyrics/music he write, which she like, most of the time, and she always nails it!! Btw, Floor is classical trained, and is a vocal teacher herself.. My favorite Nightwish song...hmmm its hard, but at moment i really like the newest one A ocean of strange islands, masterpiece!!

Was just about to comment about the same thing. Emma comments mostly on Floor's singing. But Tuomas is the mastermind behind this. BTW, personally I love the Anette era, just because the band sounded so fresh, free and newborn. Songs like The Last Ride Of The Day just have that drive, you wish it would never end. Slow, Love Slow is another Anette's masterpiece that no one would do better. Or Scaretale ... her tone is just perfect fot that. They all have their place, but the albums from Anette's era I love the most.

Floor is such a vocal shape-shifter that it's hard to even classify what she's doing sometimes. She blends classical technique with contemporary. She will lean into punchier resonance, or super clear consonants sometimes just for a single syllable to create emphasis. She tailors both timbre, and vowel shape to the way she wants it for every phrase she sings. A lot of vocalists are good at a particular thing. Floor is good at virtually everything.

When this was recorded Floor had been the replacement singer of Nightwish för just about 10 months. She did her first show in Seattle Wa on Oct 1st 2012 after the band fired Anette, their second singer. This was recorded Aug.3rd 2013. This song wasn't on the set list for the tour originally since Anette didn't have the vocal ability to perform it. But Floor had heard the song when her first band After Forever" toured with Nightwish when Tarja, their first singer, was still in the band, and she loved it. So Floor asked Tuomas (the guy behind the keyboards) if they could make it a part of the set list. And they did, it was song number 13 of a 15 song set. There's som minor variations in the backing between Floors and Tarjas version, mainly that the choir have been reduced in volume. There's a video on youtube from, I think, Argentina, recorded Dec15th 2012. And there's one of Tarja doing it too. Three singers: Tarja Turunen, Anette Olzon, and Floor Jansen. The symphonic parts (and choral parts) are a mix of prerecorded *actual* symphony sounds (you can't tour for two years with an entire orchestra, so that part is recorded). There are keyboard sections as well. Floor Jansen is classically trained and metal trained (different schools). I wish they had captioned the canticle. Tuomas (keyboard player) writes nearly all the band's music.

The London symphony that worked with Nightwish was written by Tuomas and arranged with help from Pip Williams. It was recorded at Abby Road Studios. Many of the musicians played on movie soundtracks like Star Wars.

This 2013 Wachen concert is off the charts. Every song is as good as this one. Amazing. There nothing Floor can't do. If you wanna get your mind blown, in 2019 Floor appeared on a Dutch TV show - "Beste Zangers". She was on with her childhood hero actor and singer Henke Poort. They did "Phantom of the Opera" on the show. It will leave your chin on your chest. Then in I think 2022 or 2023, Henke Joined Nightwish in Amsterdam and the did Phantom of the Opera again. Both versions are absolutely stunning. And to think, you haven't see or heard Floor sing with Marko in Nightwish. Those 2 together are pure magic.

I think you already did this some years ago (but at least this was not re-upload). Still, being completely honest would be a better choice IMO. I would say that you should add "starting from a scratch", instead of "first time reaction". Most fans wouldn't mind if you are doing these again, because we love to watch reactions. It is a tragedy that you lost your channel with 180,000 subs, and that shouldn't happen. It is quite a gray area here, that some channels can upload anything, and some get copyright strikes. Instead they should only block those videos they don't want to be used on reactions (or whatever). Removing someone's channel is something that shouldn't happen. I'm biased of course, but I think it should be the same rules for all. If they remove one channel, they should be remove all the other channels (with the same content) as well. Anyway, I re-subbed here 🙂

She's been classically trained, a teacher herself for many, many years and one of the, if not _the_ most versatile vocalists you can experience nowadays. It wasn't a re-upload, she actually did it again, it just wasn't a first-time reaction. First time for this channel I guess. The funny part is, all of us who subscribed to her old channel know this is a redo and a lot of people who watched the first ones WON'T actually sit through every minute of all these reactions to the same artists if you saw her old one.
