It is SO awesome listening to these two talk about their love of music, how close they are as bandmates and how long they have all been together and grown together. It's truly epic. Speaking from experience, finding the right musicians with personalities that all jive is crucial and the killer for most bands, ugh!

47:30 - 51:00 🧐 So Both Lzzy and Joe of Halestorm individually explain that they write riffs more from "their brains" than from "their fingers" Lzzy: "My fingers don't have brains, they can't think for themselves, ... I have to work it out mentally" Joe: "I'm sitting there playing and its like, "nothin's comin'!" Then you figure out your brain writes better than your fingers" So many amateur musicians have the mentality that they'll just improv riffs or licks by playing forever in trial & error and an amazing riff "will just happen" .. meanwhile bagging on others who write with pencil on paper to create as "that's not creative! that's not art!".. meanwhile its very very unlikely they will come up with anything by assuming "their fingers think better than the brain"...
