This episode was my favourite from when I was a kid, it's a blinder. Love the fight in the corn field, with loads more targeting computer animations than usual. The sequnce where they detonate the explosives is fucking awesome, especially the music and the awesome explosion. All the agents are really involved, it's just MASK at it's absolute best. It feels like a short movie. I wonder if they had extra time to spend on the script, direction and animation of this episiode?

This episode was excellent. Venom was more cold blooded than ever. Both teams were straight up going at it, destroying vehicles and everything. Scott bringing down the harsh truth on poor T-Bob "I told you, you're not alive!".

Wow, Scott looked like a seal clapping at the beginning. I really wish an updated show would be made or a live action show would be made. I can't wait to start seeing Hurricane. That was my favorite toy.

Was this episode inspired by David Copperfield? "Assault on Liberty" was originally aired on 10/17/1985. Copperfield did his disappearance of the Statue of Liberty on 4/8/1983, and he brought it back without trouble.

Ikr. Surely the M.A.S.K agents can spare 10 seconds to leave normally. Gloria's the worst, 5 times I've seen her stop a moving vehicle in traffic and get out and run away* (surely driving to the headquarters would be quicker). It's never that urgent that Dusty needs to drop a pizza base he was spinning on to the floor. it takes two seconds to put it down; you're not being shot at or chased by a zombie or something!!! >XD *bleedin' women drivers!! :O >XD

They were called 'masks' (exactly the same reason the show was called 'MASK', rather than 'HELMET'), rather than 'helmets', as, 'HELMET' is actually what this show was originally going to be called, but the makers of it couldn't think of fitting words that started with each initial letter, hence the show's final name was 'MASK', which stood for 'Mobile Armored Strike Kommand' (hence characters like Alex Sector say 'Jackrabbit mask', where Miles Mayhem says 'Viper mask', rather than these two characters saying 'Jackrabbit helmet' and 'Viper helmet'). This is similar to the 1989 Iron Grenadiers vehicles the 'Razorbacks', from G.I. Joe (driven by Wild Boars) - these vehicles were originally going to be called 'DEATH' (where they'd have been the second Iron Grenadier vehicles to have the first two words 'Dual Elevating', after 1988's 'DEMON' vehicles, which were driven by Ferrets, and stood for 'Dual Elevating Multi-Ordnance Neutralisers') [the 'A' would have stood for 'Armored', and the 'T' would have stood for 'Tank'], but the final name for these vehicles was 'Razorbacks' when Hasbro couldn't think of a word that started with 'H'.

This episode always stands out for art and direction, I don't know why. Maybe they had more time to work on it, maybe it was a demonstration of capability? Its a fantastic episode.

The animation of this show is clearly better than today's cartoons, but it's also better than almost every other cartoon of its day. It really was superb. The M.A.S.K toy line wasn't my favourite, but the cartoon may well be. It's not without its faults though; Scott and T-Bob for example are pretty universally loathed, and rightly so. I also think the voicing leaves a lot to be desired, though I suspect it's a writing issue rather than the fault of the actors. Some of the characters are incredibly clichéd, to the point where I find Alex and Dusty almost painful to listen to. I realise I'm reading a lot into what is a product aimed at children, who wouldn't mind any of these things. The bottom line is, all of these shows had their flaws, and it didn't matter at the time. A lot of them were still really good, and M.A.S.K is one of best.
