Todd is the most knowledgable recording engineer I know. If you ever have the opportunity to record with him or take a one on one recording class with him, take it! He's the best.

Thanks Jeff. That means a lot coming from a top vocal coach as yourself! 🙏🏻

Agreed. They did a solid job on the plug-in. My opinion is that the plug-in can sound a little hyped up, while the hardware sounds more open and natural. There is also a bit of transient preservation I get from the hardware. But of course having the tactile feel is also amazing. Thanks for the comment.

@@ToddUrban Basically its always the same story with hardware. Transient response, low end extension, and "openess"/space around the source (personally I believe its because it is more natural somehow) are preserved better in the analog domain

Agreed. But I love supporting the hardware manufacturers and also, many times I’m more likely to learn my few hardware pieces more intimately than the 1000+ plugins I own.

Great demostration as always! I use and like the plugin and although i can not afford the hardware rack that sounds even better I may investigate the 500 version

Thank you. Yes, the 500 series is great too. That was actually the first one I ever used and used to put it on vocals as part of my chain. It was great to open things up as they went into the DAW.

Todd please do a Unison for dummies video for people such as myself. How can you craete a different sound for each voice? It would be nice to see this done using the Prophet 5/ 10 since you know it so well and i somewhat understand it as well.

I’ll have more synth content coming in the next few months. (Of course you put this on an outboard EQ video, so some people might be confused) But stay tuned, there is more coming. 😉
