It slays me how tracks like this have any dislikes. I can only imagine someone stumbling onto this and just being mad that it isn't overproduced mainstream garbage. How dare anyone make music that is contemplative and beautiful and not obnoxious and loud!

Another comment: beautiful basso profundo; is he an oktavist? Depth of color and light in his voice, so rare and captivating. Sweeps you away, like a specific wind. A vocal tide lain over the sea. That's what I hear and see.

As others have said, this needs to be the theme for a TV show involving animal pelts, swords, horses, Northern European scenery and twisted family lineage. Amazing as always.

Obligatory "at least half of these views are mine!" comment. In all seriousness, though - I can't stop watching this! Very powerful song, and equally impressive video. Both epic and haunting.

Am going to see you guys on Thursday in Dublin so looking forward to it. As a history teacher I love the concept of singing old songs. I love the fusion of old and new. This video is particular nice as it compliments the song so beautiful. When I first studied vikings in UCD, they were ruthless, sophisticated and incredible seafarers but viking history is incredibly popular now, at long last. Its wonderful that you are given life to the 9th century saga's from the vikings. This style of video sets you apart from other groups. Bring more of the traditions of the other members as well. I love the song the sheep stealer which I think comes from Northfolk, music brings people together, ordinary simple people. Our pasts are full of beauty, poetry, talent, I know you guys will do an amazing job respecting it all. Well done. I am a brisk lad though my fortune is bad And I am most wonderful poor. But indeed I intend oh my life for to mend, And to build a house out on the moor, my brave boys, And to build a house out on the moor. The farmer he keeps fat oxen and sheep And a neat little nag on the downs. In the middle of the night when the moon does shine bright There's a number of work to be done, my brave boys, There's a number of work to be done. I'll ride all around in some other man's land, And I'll take a fat ewe for my own. With the aid of my knife I will end of its life And then I will carry it home, my brave boys, And then I will carry it home. And my children they will pull the skin from the ewe, And I'll be in a place where there's none. When the constable comes I will stand with my gun And I'll swear all I have is my own, my brave boys, I'll swear all I have is my own.

Considering the largest battle the vikings ever had was against the Irish and lost, that the irish were known to crack an armour helmet with a single blow of an axe, that in mainland europe they were known as the fastest soldiers on the planet, and when used in europe would run off ahead of large armies, bareback on horses naked, and come back with the heads of their enemies held high in the air screaming covered in blood, considering ireland was split into several kingdoms all waring with each other and with themselves. Considering all that, it would mae one hell of a show.

I wish I had a voice like that! I bet if the police stops this man, he could just look in the officer's eyes and says "there is no problem here. You will now release me on my way" and the police would obey.

I remember listening to his recordings of Loch Lomond and the volga boatmen on his little youtube channel like 10+ years ago. I didn't even realize when I saw him in Anuna that it was the same guy, he looks like a viking now.
