I am trying to decide between getting the M-audio Oxygen 61 Mk4 or the Nektar Impact LX61+. Do you have any tips?

Personally I would go with the m-audio...

@@Johnmike I am more inclined towards the m-audio because it seems more comfortable since it has a small inclination and the nektar is completely flat.

​@@Group_Anonymous I actually got that impression, I just didn't know a good word to refer to the rest of the keyboard (besides the keybeds). But thanks for that note anyway. I still haven't bought it because music gear can be somewhat expensive, but I'm trying to make up my mind. It would help to know how long they usually last. Do you have any experience with something like this? Also, I am getting a sustain pedal and a stand, not sure if I'm missing anything that could be useful in the future.

Can you edit the knob assignments without a computer? MKIV has an Edit button that I don't see in the MKV...

Good video. I am just starting with it but my M1 big sur won't Directlink control mapping. Not even sure what each knob should be assigned and can't find anything for Garageband. Anything as to what should be normal mapping on the IV anywhere on the web?

Thanks for the detailed review, it's hard to decide when they give and take features on both versions. I want the arpeggiator but I also want decent software. Stuck on 16 tracks with Mixcraft home atm, has a decent amount of instruments. Don't want to spend a lot, because I am not the musician, but I would like to improve on the sounds I am currently penning. I played some notes using the pc kb, and at the same time using other keys to change the pitch (petty cumbersome to do).

John Mike, I have a question for you about getting a 61 keyboard, I’m new at this midi controller stuff, I’ve narrowed it down to 3 keyboards but can’t decide between the Novation launchkey 61, Arturia keylab essential 61 or M-Audio oxygen pro 61? If you have one to pick which one would you pick? I know you said I M-Audio is a little on the Clickety clack side, But it has after touch, please give me a suggestion, Thanks. @@jmnaylor Alright. I would think the Launchkey would be good because you got Ableton. As for action, the Pro would probably be a bit better than the two, but the Arturia and the Novation should be good enough. I am sure John would have a much better experience than me. 😅

I definitely like the MK2 keybed better than the MK3...but I actually like the feel and expressiveness of the m-audio a bit better than the launchkey
