I have confidence this recording would serve as a cornerstone for classical music for years to come. His layered sensitivity, nuanced execution -- nothing is overdone or underdone, everything in the right amount without undermining the artistic integrity of the piece. Most of all, it's completely selfless and devoted to the music. As evident by the principal's facial expressions throughout the entire performance! I've listened to this video countless times now, helps me concentrate and reminds me how beautiful the world can be. Thank you, Stefan.

Ah, Bruch's "4th" Violin Concerto! The most "violiny", if you will, of the Bruchian treasures and, therefore, the most ingratiating, fulfilling and gratifying for the soloist (not to mention the audience!!). The response, both during the performance (facial) and afterward (same cellist's applause was so loud you can hear it above the appreciative din) tells the story. Really, forget the very few minor mistakes and the inexorable tempi in the last movement (Stefan burning through some passages, yet completely persuasive), this is unbridled joy, commitment and love. Oh, to be that cellist...what a life-affirming experience!

24:24-24:40 Now THAT is an exquisite moment! The cellist caught it also and the smile spread across his face!
