I lived in San Gabriel Valley (a large area just east of LA that includes Rowland Heights) on and off for 17 years and used to say that you can live there without speaking a word of English because you can find every type of stores, services and professionals opened by Chinese speaking people. As ethnic Chinese as Rowland Heights is, if you really want to feel that you are in Taiwan, HK or China, you should go to Monterey Park or Arcadia which is just east of Rowland Heights. Monterey Park was the first ethnic Chinese community that developed in the area in the 1970s mostly by Taiwanese and HK Chinese.
You guys are great. This is first time I got to see your sister clearly. She is the same one right. When she was pregnant and took you to the airport.

If you haven't discovered Din Tai Fung, Meet Fresh, 85 C Bakery and other global Taiwan food brands in San Gabriel Valley, you should check them out and compare them to their Taiwan counterparts to see if there is any difference in their quality and marketing strategies. In particular, I would be curious to see what you think of 85 C Bakery in the US vs Taiwan.
