Welcome to Taiwan, Xiaoma and Dave! You guys finally made it! Yep, I believe Taiwan now holds the world record for most convenience stores per square kilometer ... they're literally everywhere! There are several things I adore about this country (you probably notice them, too) - Taiwan is very convenient, very safe, great food, great landscape, great landmarks, wonderful people, and a very democratic and vibrant society. Enjoy your stay in Taiwan!!

7-11 in Taiwan can also deposit (or withdraw ,transfer money without a card, or change foreign currency) ALSO print / photocopy / develop photos / tickets (high-speed rail tickets / movie tickets / Tickets for various shows or concerts, etc.), as well as delivery / collection (or cash on delivery), laundry delivery, payment (water and electricity, mobile phone communication, etc.)

I didn't know that they provide currency exchange service.
@Sophinan5 жыл бұрын
I don't think 7-11 in Taiwan provide currency exchange due to Taiwan fiance law, the Bank Of Taiwan need to give you licence to do currency exchange or it will be illegal. I think you mess up with Japan's 7-11.
I love watching your video's! I don't travle much, so I I live through your video's! Keep it coming!

I was the faculty of NTU before and this is the 7-11 I went most often. Because the dorms for NTU faculty members and students are located in the same and nearby buildings, this particular 7-11 is much bigger than other 7-11 in Taiwan. I miss it so much!!!

In America 7-11 is basically just a gas station to people. There are good sized 7-11 stores/gas stations here in America that have tons of snacks, junk food and drinks almost like a mini grocery store but, usually if they make food it's a separate businesses sharing common space. We get our groceries at a supermarket mostly. Being a Dense city it makes sense to have a 7-11 in that style, it's super convenient for people that live nearby and don't have vehicles. A massive grocery store is probably less common. Just a guess.
some things you didn't notice is that you can print/ copy stuff in 7-11 (so it's kinda like Kinko's in US), and you can pick-up (print out) your train ticket that you purchased online. And you can pay your traffic tickets, water bill or something like that in 7-11. the best thing is you can do online shopping and choose to ship to the 7-11 you want to pick-up (i know i know, Amazon has it now, but Taiwan has been doing it for years, and even better), and the best part is you can pay to 7-11 when you pick up your package (they will pay for you first, but there might be some extra processing fee), so you can pay 7-11 cash, then your mom/ husband/ whatever will never find out from your credit card bill that you do online shopping again. I assume this service saves a lot of marriage!

This 7-11 is definitely one of the best 7-11 in Taiwan, if not the best. Actually most 7-11 are really simple, only selling foods and drinks, with coffee 100% made by machine rather than the more traditional way shown in the video. And yes, the prices are lower than those in the US, but this happens generally, not just 7-11. Well this 7-11 is really impressive, not just for you but also Taiwanese ourselves! 這家7-11大概是最頂級的了,一般的只會銷售最基本的食物跟飲料,咖啡也多是機器自動化製作。台灣整體物價相對於美國較低,當然也包括7-11。這家7-11真的很屌,台灣人自己看都嚇到XD
That's one of charming things in Taiwan, where features abundant living requirements and convenient traffic routes. Enjoy it.

Meanwhile the 7-11’s in California don’t even put out real milk or half and half, they use those crappy little cups of fake creamer. When you add them to your coffee they leave floating sediment. I’ll be skipping 7-11 until I get back to NY. This store is amazing, thanks for filming this 🙂

Just so you know, back in the early 80s where convenient stores just started to expand in Taiwan, it was known as "Superstore" (超級商店) 30 years on, yes, now it is genuinely "super". Also, children in Taiwan are instructed to find the closest convenience store in the case they feel being stalked by suspected criminals at night, because they are 24 hours open and always have super strong illumination. (7-eleven's slogan in Taiwan is "Always open, 7-eleven") so I think we're not far away to the stage that convenience stores are used in disaster relief and/or as emergency shelter...
