She learned this song on a weekend and no idea if anything made sense.Her interpreter asked why she didn’t call.She said it was the weekend and she didn’t want to bother her. You couldn’t pick a better person in all the world to take after in all aspects of life. She tried to learn as much as she could about the language and culture while competing in the “Singer” It earned her great respect from the Chinese people!

if you'd scrolled down on that video you'd have seen a lot of comments from Chinese people praising her pronunciation and linguistic skills.. btw, Faouzia didn't do a hybrid English Mandarin here, the original song by G.E.M is like that , and also in 8:12 what she's saying in Mandarin is "you are the devil from heaven"

Aside from a few placement issues, her pronunciation was great according to a lot of Chinese listeners. Arabic as a language that teaches you all kinds of pronunciations because they literally have just about every sound in their language so it makes it easier to learn other languages. She said that she listened to this song over and over taking note of the different sounds that she was hearing in the language and just practising them. So she doesn’t know Chinese that well, she just able to emulate what she hears.

I love Faouzia too. I think G.E.M.’s original version of “Devil From Heaven (Away)” was a mix of Mandarin and English . Faouzia also sang “Reflection” in Chinese on Singer2024, and Jay Chou’s “I Truly Believe” on Next. Did you see the recent Forbes Middle East Interview where she said she gets bad stage fright? In previous interviews she said she doesn’t sight read music well. When she was studying piano, she’d much prefer to hear it first. Thanks for sharing your reaction.

Her pronouns sound so like Chinese singer singing but I don't understand what she was singing if without read the lyrics... That's why when I watched that show while she sang this song, I really got surprised. At that moment I was like... What!!!!! How she do that!!!!
