I think the original Japanese lyrics were even more emotional. He wrote this song after his grandfather, who gave him a lot of love, suddenly passed away. About the heels, the girl in the mv was his lover and she passed away(that’s why no one seem to notice her in the church). The heels sort of represent the only connection he has left with the girl.

The heels just about Memento Mori from the girl, almost every Yonezu song was about memento mori, you can see the pattern by looking to his old work MV, his animated mv always showing girl and boy wearing black and white to represented memento mori and he keep doing this things till right now just like in MV canary he perform with black and white suits

@@memento_contract In 2012, the word "memento mori" was written in the lyrics of Mr. Yonezu's song "caribou". No direct mention by Mr. Yonezu was found regarding the relationship between this song "LEMON" and "memento mori". Perhaps someone who knows Mr. Yonezu's old songs explained that in the sense that it can be inferred to be relevant, right? 🙄😊

Kenshi in his childhood His family ignored him He felt that no one understood him mostly his father and he had a hard talking to people so He almost had no friends, he really loved his grandfather and his grandfather died and that song was talking about him. I love Mr. Yonezu's songs. However, I felt a gap between Yonezu's appearance and behavior and her music. Why does he lengthen his hair to hide his face? Why doesn't he appear on TV and other media so much when he gives us such a nice song? Why can he be enlightened like a monk or a god and go deep into a person's psychology from a young age?
