What a wonderful video J-MAN - Thank you so much for putting this out there, I have ordered this guitar wanting to rebuild my collection after all my equipment was stolen a while back - this guitar looks like an amazing entry point for any people who enjoy modding their instruments / upgrading stuff. Can't wait to receive it. Your input is highly valuable and I cannot wait to receive this one and work on it! Already thinking about making some mods to the pickup selectors (change to parallel wiring instead of series) and maybe change pickups eventually. Cheers mate!

On the original 1950’s Telecasters, Leo Fender himself didn’t originally use a ground wire. Technically, there is no need for one on a Telecaster, since the back plate of the T-bridge pickup is electrically connected to the bridge itself through the mounting screws. So it is possible that Musi doesn’t need one either. You could check all the wire connections and try cleaning the pots, but for the price of the guitar, I think I would exchange it-a brand new guitar shouldn’t have noise issues like that! I still say sell your EART, IYV, and Ammoon, if this one turns out to be a keeper! 😂
@j-man9457

Yeah not sure... I think this one needs a ground wire.... I checked with Amazon. They told me they would give me a partial refund if I agreed to keep it. So, it's a keeper lol!

@@j-man9457 Sweet! You already clearly know how to fix the minor setup issues like the neck backbow… Now, if you can figure out and successfully fix the grounding issue, I’d say it’s a keeper, too! In terms of features and craftsmanship (electrical issues notwithstanding), this is clearly one of the best new T-style clones you’ve reviewed lately! In terms of craftsmanship, I think this one and the 2BM-Modified LyxPro are probably the 2 best guitars you have now, in my mind. One question: Is the neck pocket standard Fender-spec? I’d be willing to bet that it is, save for that notch where the truss rod adjustment wheel is under the 22nd fret extension lip… But good to be sure, in case you ever need to replace the neck like you did on the IYV. I do NOT think that would ever be likely on the Musi though, since the roasted maple should theoretically be almost totally immune to temperature and humidity changes.

@@zuperdee yeah I would agree with you on never having to change this neck. It's one of the nicest necks I've seen on a guitar in a long time regardless of price! They hit this one out of the park! Lol

First, I a strat style man. Main reason is because the arm and body cuts. I love this M Musi Virgo because it has all the same body and heel cuts as my Suhr Standard Plus. (My favorite and most dependable). I brought my Virgo in Nov 22' and my daughter got me the Capricorn for Xmas. On my Virgo the bridge wiring would not switch fro middle position, bad switch. But, i still took only it to a gig. With no neck or saddle adjustments, straight out the box. I brought a whole new prewired plate and replaced the input jack (very hard to pull the chord out) after the gig. Less than $30.00 for the changes, middle position has a push-pull bass boost. Overall I'm loving this brand because of the body, neck and fret work. They feel really good are easy to play. Any electronics upgrades are to be expected at this price point. I liked this video and will check out your other ones.

You are achieving a nice collection of Telecasters. I played my Squire "Classic Vibe" Stratocaster last night, and then played my IYV Thinline Tele right afterwards, and was left with the feeling that my 175 dollar IYV sounded better, has a nicer action, and stays in tune better. A good budget guitar is the way to go, and cheaper is often better. I would phone vendor and get a discount, and if one person refuses, phone again until you get your way. I like that you are fussy, and want decent quality control, for your hard earned cash.

Yeah I agree. The brand name guitars are not what they used to be, or maybe they are, but with budget guitars becoming so good now, it just feels like the brand name stuff's quality has diminished... I'm keeping this one. Amazon said they would give me a partial refund if I agreed to keep it. 😀

@@j-man9457 Back in the 1970's, I had to rely on Gibson's, and Fenders, that were abused by their former owners, and were cheaper to buy. My 57 Stratocaster had 3 coats of yellow paint, had no Fender logo, and looked like crap. My ES335 had a broken neck that was repaired. My Martin had holes in it. They sounded good though, and I learned how to play on them.

I don't think you got an open box. Because those type of pickups do not come with plastics on them. Emmanuel is probably a standard manual for any and all guitars they have. Only neck pickups that are the standard lipstick ones that have Chrome on it come with the plastic. Open pickups never have plastic on a telly

That was my plan all along haha.... to buy it then send it back but I can't stop playing it haha it's like it was built for me. Although playable out of the box, I had to set it up to suit my style of playing... the action was way too low for me when I got it!
