It was a very cold winter morning and 2 friends from Auckland joined Choonda Premi for a deep drop mission. We launched the boat at 3.15 am when it was freezing cold. The passion and dedication kept us warm though... I was expecting Bluenose and Hapuka but what we got was Gem fish and trivelly to take home.... Fishing is always with surprises, isnt it...? Some people say you need lots of patience when you go for fishing...But to me.... My mind is always busy with dreams of catching big fish, wait for the bite time, predict the fish comes from deep.... , then excitement or surprises... No matter what, mind goes through a big process... isnt it....

Just wondering why you guys leave sharks to the water! It’s preferred in Kerala. Is it that not preferred in NZ?

Hi brito, there are some types of Sharks that we eat and others have high mercury content in them…lemon shark and school sharks are very tasty table fish…. I know that people eat the Mako shark here although they have high mercury content in them…anyway will do a detailed video about this topic… We are planning a shark fishing video as well…🐬🐟🐋🎣

There are actually many fish that has more mercury content which is no good for pregnant women and kids…. Some varieties of Tuna is even worse… most of the predatory fish usually have higher mercury content , but again it depends on their life cycle and geographical area they live in… Again I need to do more research before I do the video as I dont want to make a video thats disturbing or misleading… As far as I know smaller amounts of these predatory fish should be ok… 🐠🐟🐋🐬🎣

Interesting! If people prefer tuna over shark despite the fact of mercury, then there’s a chance of taste preference too. No worries, let the video come in due course. Till then, will enjoy Choondapremi NZ fishing. All the best😊
