In Sanremo everything is live, singing and orchestra. The video you saw is from two different evenings because Festival of Sanremo last 5 days.

In fact in Rotterdam (by regulation) only Damiano was live, the others not (even if Ethan was very good in playback, for him it was more difficult than bass and guitar). The nice thing in Sanremo was to see the violinists and violists standing and dancing, playing with Thomas.

my hope is that Italian TV will be able to negotiate with Eurovision to bring the orchestra back live. Sanremo in recent years also with the new musical genres has shown that it is possible to bring any song with the orchestra. it would be a rebirth for Eurovision music

Sadly the live performances is not available anymore because RAI take off the videos, and this is a sort of collage of two separate exhibitions, and it's less powerful. They were absolutely wild on that stage (way more than on Eurovision's) because they were playing instruments live, singing the original lyrics, and the orchestra was amazing.

The best performance is the one at the end after they had won when the violinists are standing enjoying it as much as we did. The violins are magical, by the way. I watched ALL 5 nights and I am not Italian😂

unfortunately it's a video edited because the rai has deleted them from youtube. Original u can see the orchestral players interacting and are fantastic. And they also canceled Amandoti, the maneskin cover which is wonderful.
