I've been living as sort of a vagrant for the past 8 years, constantly running away from abuse, hitching rides, living in semi trucks, living in a van, on the streets and so on. I settled down for a while, then things got worse and I had to run away again. I listened to and cried to this song so many times on my way to Seattle Washington. I'm living my best life now. This song means so much to me and makes me feel like things are finally okay. Thank you for making this.

主人公ゲンゲくんが何らかの理由で自分の町を飛び出し、荒野でヒッチハイクをしている(ボードにAPPLE BLOSSOM LANDと書かれている) 乗せてくれた湯一さんとともに目的地を目指す。ゲンゲくんが持っている広告紙は以前ツイジ君が町で貼り回っていたもの。おそらくツイジくんもそこへ行く用があったと思われる、夜の走行シーンではゲンゲくんの乗る軽トラの前をツイジ君が走っている。しかし、分かれ道で湯一さんは、真っ直ぐ行けば目的地のところを右折する。戸惑うゲンゲに湯一は見向きもしない、そこがゲンゲの故郷に戻る道だったのか、また別の道だったのかは分からないが、ゲンゲはこのままではダメだと覚悟を決め軽トラを飛び降りる。フラッシュバックのようなシーンではゲンゲが数人の人に囲まれて触られているシーンがある。(いじめか性虐待かは分からないが、おそらくそれがゲンゲが町を出た理由)逃げた時点でゲンゲは野犬に襲われ、長いしっぽを喰われていた。軽トラを飛び降りたゲンゲは走り続ける。トラックを降りて後ろを振り返った湯一さんは意味深な表情。彼のうなじあたりにはAPPLE BLOSSOM LANDの刺青がある。湯一さんは何らかの理由でゲンゲをそこへ連れていきたくなかったのだろうか、、。紙を貼っているツイジくんが一瞬邪悪な表情になる描写もあった。彼は何かを企んでいるのだろうか、、。とにかく、また荒野に放り出されたゲンゲくんは再びヒッチハイクをしている。 広告紙には、読み取れる中では既婚、結婚といった単語が見られるが、英語の歌詞では"You're not able to wed"(あなたは結婚できない)とあるし、これも一体どういうことなんだろう…読み取れることを書いてみたけど、まだまだ気になることがある… 【追記】海外の方が書かれている考察がとてもしっっっくりきました‼️‼️すごい！！！

本当に嬉しすぎるずっと待ちわびてた新曲だし今までのアジアンチックというか宗教チックな音楽も素晴らしすぎますmvも以前の虻瀬さんの楽曲を描いて下さっていたべちべるさんという私の大好きな方でこの29秒の中だけでもこんなにヌルヌルと動いていてこの楽曲に対する熱意がビシビシと伝わってきますまた雄大な山の様子や天候の移り変わりなどの大自然も綺麗に表されていて虻瀬さんの音楽と非常に合わさっていてもう一つの作品となられているところに感嘆を漏らさずにはいられませんどんな虻瀬さんの曲とべちべるさんのmvが楽しめるのかmvに映っているキャラにはどんなストーリーがあるのか明日の3月14日か待ち遠しいです

Listened to this on repeat on a nine hour long bus ride - I just got back from a trip to China, and was going back from the big city where the aeroport was, to my little hometown. I had no internet connection - just this song as well as Bush on my phone. Watching the trees go by as they both played, hour after hour in-between sleeping felt so special. But also bittersweet, considering what this song is about, and the fact that I'd rather be anywhere but my country and my little hometown, even if I love my family... I hope I'll leave the country someday and never return. I'll be able to "come out". Be able to be wed.
