Looks like a very powerful and agile system. But the people using this system are making too much assumptions on what the opponent's reactions are and have ignored the fact that different opponents have very different footwork. Too much emphasis on the opponent's handwork.
@LunaticReason2 жыл бұрын
Actually what is demonstrated is only a small fraction of howt he one using the system is supposed to respond. You are right thought that every opponnent has a different footwork or response which is why these drills are only meant to be a loose guideline and not done by rote.

@@LunaticReason Wing Chun practitioners should start practicing with fighters using other fighting styles, instead of their own kind. I have seen people "playing" chi sau for like two years without sparring with other MMA styles. In the old day, people didn't spar with other fighting school, except when they actually fought their enemies in real street fights. But things have changed. You can see so many different fighting styles even on youtube. I doubt whether Wing Chun guys even think about how to counter other systems using their own. You watch youtube videos and you will ALWAYS see wing chun guys fighting like boxers with boxing stance which is totally BS. They simply don't know how to apply their system in real fights.

MMA has a lot of rules that favor BJJ fighters. Like you can't knee or kick your enemy's head when you enemy is on the ground. So BBJ fighters, who like the ground game, are now free from worrying about their heads being kicked or kneed. Of course, I doubt whether these Wing Chun sifu can fight real fights. LOL BTW, Judo also has a ground game, but judokas seldom use it cause once on the ground, anything can happen. Say, your enemy can grab a chair and hit your head with the chair. Rousey and Shevchenko both practice Judo, not BJJ. LOL

Godbless you i appreciate the effort. But no one in real fight will wait for you to grab their thumbs. Not practical
@blockmasterscott4 жыл бұрын
Actually it is very practical. I was once in a bare knuckle sparring match with someone, and he grabbed my thumb when I tried to come in for a clinch so I could go for a take down. Stupid mistake on my part, and he took advantage of it.

@@sirpfa Hi there! I've been practicing since 1986. Mostly Kenpo for those 30 years, and I've been taking Taiji and Choy Li Fut for almost 4 years now. I can't fight anymore because of severe arthritis in one of my hips, all I can do is train.
