I was very surprised to not see Scripulous Fingore in here, he's a pretty well known hoax. Basically someone "found" in the files of New Super Mario Bros. DS an unused enemy named Scripulous Fingore who pointed at Mario. There's also a really famous image of him in SM64DS saying "You cannot ignore me forever, Mario."

I always had kind of a retaliation theory to the "Mario Massacring Mushroom Men" thing. Aren't the Toads magically regenerating? I know it's a video game but in some games, when you restart the level or come back to an already cleared area (transporting through a door or pipe), the bricks are back. And since they give out the exact same prizes, it's obviously the same ones. So maybe he isn't killing them, he's just disemboweling them and then they reconstruct their internal organs through the curse's magic, including the item that they have in them. If anything, Mario's just a sadistic 19th century doctor.... and since he IS an actual doctor.... ehh? ehh? It's all making sense now, isn't it?
