The ending arpeggios are so wispy and the last chord so light it makes one wonder why orchestras are so ponderous with this music. Wonderful!

Ho avuto la fortuna di ascoltare questi artisti personalmente e sono rimasto senza fiato. Prima dell'applauso esplosivo e del bis richiesto a gran voce, ho guardato negli occhi le persone sedute vicine a me e ho capito che avevano sentito quello che avevo sentito io. Quando la musica arriva in questo modo è magia. Fidatevi che sentiremo presto parlare di loro. Complimenti vivissimi. Non si può dire nient'altro.

Chromatically Ravel was a breath of fresh air. I love the reprise of themes at the end. He got a lot of stick from academics for this kind of thing as it was perceived as vulgar at the time, but he was showing how music can knock down walls. (And smash windows sometimes!)
