Märklin 3060 Tune-up and Märklin 4060 Lightbulb Replacement

I notice in the last running session this Märklin 3060 wasn’t running all that well and also noticed the lightbulb was not working on the Märklin 4060 dummy unit. So let do a tune-up and bulb replacement video. Still trying to figure out the best camera angle to do the repairs on the locomotives.

Hello I have the marklin Santa Fe engine and dummy unit the engine runs well but in opening the dummy unit it had no pieces to connect the light just a wire from the bulb that goes nowhere. Under the unit it doesn’t even have a slider to pick up current would you be able to tell me the parts I would need to hook up the light again and where to purchase them Much appreciated Thank you Great video on the engine

Hello, and sorry for the delayed response, was trying to gather some info for you. So, I look up parts on Marklin’s webpage then enter the model of the unit. Unfortunately they don’t have a parts list for the 4060, but I think it would be the same for the 3060 unit. The pickup slider number is 7185, then I search eBay for my parts. 0:48 why using the screwdriver to remove the bogie dummy here, while you can easily remove it by lifting it at the left side where you unscrewed the coupler?

After your comment, I took a look at that and found out I don’t have to do either to access the dummy unit. Just remove the main body screw, lift from the rear and the coupler will slide through the gap. No need to remove anything else. Thanks for watching.
