Great video Emma and super helpful . I have been favouring M & S jeans for a few years now both for quality and price point but get overwhelmed by how many different styles there are . I would never have considered a carrot leg but they looked great on you although at 5 ft 2 not sure they would look as good on me . Loved their flared jeans last winter such 70’s vibes .and the Harpers a real staple . Glad you also mentioned the Lily’s slim as they are my favourite dog walking jeans as tuck into wellies and boots so easily and very comfortable. I loved this video! Would you be able to make a video on how to choose which shoes to wear with different cuts? What should we look for? I find choosing shoes for cropped lengths easy, but full length jeans for some reason, I have trouble picking a good shoe choice!

I’ve always thought it was just personal preference but also it depends on what you’re doing. If it’s a day where lots of walking is involved then I’d always be wearing trainers for example x

Hi Emma. I think denim jeans are perhaps the most difficult to get right in our wardrobe. Thank goodness there are a plethora of styles and colours these days but they have a tendency to be quite unflattering when one has a slightly fuller figure. I’ve never found a pair that I adored as much as my original Levi’s 501’s but that was many years ago when I had a nice flat tum! I need a lot of time and a wide range of styles to try on before ,and if, I find a pair I like. Certainly M&S have a fantastic selection and your video was so informative and helpful.🧡🍁

Thank you so much Emma for such an informative and fascinating review. As a M&S fan this was just the sort of vlog I needed. But I must admit I didn't realise they sold so many different types! I have the Sienna jeans but this will give me the oomph to try some other varieties. I really love the Carrot! I must admit I thought the 'flecked' denim on the Harper and the other jean type looked a bit cheap - in my youth in the 60s if you couldn't afford Levi's or Wranglers you were left to buy generic cheap types which were scornfully called 'ten bob shrinkers' (old British currency - equivalent of 50p though inflation has raised that somewhat over the years!😀) - that's what they reminded me of!😂😂😂 And I love your cream Mary Jane's! Great video; extremely helpful, thank you. Having wider hips I will definitely go for the boyfriend jeans, (although when I last looked they had sold out in the colour and size I wanted). I wish they would do more mid-rise jeans, as I find them more flattering than the high-rise. I have the Eva bootcut in the mid-blue and darker blue. The fit can definitely vary as the mid-blue is tighter. The dark blue is gorgeous because they don't have any orange stitching, which makes them look more expensive.

I think you looked fabulous in all the styles. I wish that were the case for me .I’m always on the lookout for a pair that fits. My waist has increased in size over the last two years which has made it doubly difficult as my shape has always been at odds with my waist. Eventually I tried a size bigger (12) in the Eva bootcut and this fits fairly well and doesn’t drown me in the legs and hips. I bought these after reading reviews so can only think they are a smallish 12. Then I bought the Wide leg Jean and found that it looks super flattering and gets wide in a good place. The regular are a perfect length for me as I want to wear trainers or flat boots. I also have a pair of soft white wide legs which have the crease and look almost ecru. I bought these in Gibraltar but have never seen them here in that colour. . I’ve also got the Lily Slim on recommendation,which again is a good fit but can still feel tight in the waist for me even in size 12 but I also have a bloating issue sadly. I think you must have been exhausted trying on all these jeans so well done and thank you. It does seem to be trial and error. 😊 I

Thank you so much for doing this! After returning the ones I’d previously had issues with I picked up a pair of the boyfriend ankle grazers which fitted great. Also bought the Lily Slim as a smarter option but feel they are maybe too slim fitting so not 100% sure I’ll keep those. After finding success with the boyfriend ones I ordered a different colour online, but the fit was completely different when they arrived and way tighter despite being the same size 🙈. The inconsistency in sizes and lengths in M&S trousers is baffling. Thanks again for doing all of these, it is super helpful and getting jeans shouldn’t be such a stressful thing but somehow it is! 🫠

I have a few pairs of M&S jeans (I didn't buy them for years as I felt they didn't wear well, but am now a convert). My absolute favourites are the Eva bootcut, I have two pairs. I love the crease on the midwash pair (mine have some "stuff" on the inside to hold the crease, and it works) - I've worn them at least once a week since I've had them - they are my favourites! I also have the Evas in a dark blue wash, these don't havd the crease, which imho is a shame. I have one pair of the Siennas as well as a wideleg pair and a cropped straight leg from Collection (which are okay, but I don't think they're worth the extra money).

I have the patch pocket flare and they my current favorite pair! The sizing was perfect on me, but I have a very different build from you (5'5" with large hips and thunder thighs) and I was surprisingly pleased that there is little to no gap on the waist. I got the short length tho, so maybe it's something to do with the patterning/grading for the long length version.

Unfortunately, none of the jeans hit the mark for my preferences in terms of rise, fabrication, colour ways and design. Due to my height, very short leg length, smaller waist and much bigger hips and thighs (very much a pear shape) I can tell M&S jeans aren't for me. But I have been very happy with their Crepe Tab Wide Leg Trousers and their Slim Ankle Grazer Trousers.

The sizing for the patch pocket flares was off for me too! I was anticipating your review of these earlier in the video where you said re. the 'magic' fit that you don't really have a bum. For me the problem with these was that usually I have an M&S size that fits reliably but these squashed my bum and had room around the waist and I truly wanted to love them. Rarely have I been so disappointed.

I have to be honest but I just don’t believe in premium jeans. I’ve had so many over the years and aside from a good fit on the odd pair here and there which again are only specific to certain body types I just don’t think premium jeans are worth spending the money on x

I love MnS jeans. Find them the most comfortable and hard wearing. Took me a while to find the styles that suit me and sizing can be a bit hit and miss (but that seems to be a problem everywhere). They last, wash well and come in different lengths. Other makes have not been the same - with the exception of some of Tu's newer collections of jeans (they also offer different lengths). With both you can order and return to your nearest food shop for free, which makes my life even easier if it doesn't fit. What is not to like - gone are the days of trying to shimmy into various jeans in the changing room and then getting it home to realise it looks nothing like you thought it did.😂

WOW!! What a very comprehensive in-depth review. It was very interesting to see all the different shapes and colours. The boyfriend jeans were my favourite, they looked fantastic on you. They looked great rolled up with trainers, how would you style them in the colder months? Do you favour slimmer leg jeans in the winter with boots?

It really depends on the outfit but no not necessarily. Tight fitting jeans aren't very practical in Winter because they don't trap air between the skin and fabric so they actually cool you down rather than keep you warm which is why I prefer straight leg fits or boyfriend. But on milder days I would wear the boyfriends rolled all the way down and then wear the boots underneath x

Skinny ivy are my faves’ at 5ft the short legs are a good length for me where other brands petites are still inches too long. Liking some of the straight leg styles so think I will give them a try as well 😊

Thanks, Emma. A very comprehensive review, as always. Some great styles here. Personally, im over the skinny jeans along with poly or high lycra content. But, there is a lot to choose from here. I did love those palazzo jeans. Very reminiscent of the 70's as are the patch pocket flares. Would love to try those. I also appreciate a "sculpting" thechnology, though. Every little bit helps. Lol. I just dont know if we can order these in Canada.

Not always but online it does give a fabric breakdown of each colour of they differ. For example, many of the black styles contain slightly more stretch. I also found that a 10L in the wide leg jeans was longer in one colour than another which is quite annoying 🫠
