I’m the biggest mushroom lover and I really want to learn to forage and also grow my own. Mushrooms 🍄‍🟫 are so very healthy!!! Wonderful for the body! I think if I could eat more mushrooms, I’d live to be 100 + 😆

Alcaide means leader in Arabic, I suppose it's called that name from the ancient time when the Arabs lived there. I also found out Portuguese language has plenty of common vocabulary with Arabic but sometimes with small twist in pronunciation, me speaking both languages.

The Portuguese language, like the Spanish language, has no vocabulary in common with Arabic... There are a few words that have a small Arabic influence, that's all.

Ken you were commenting on how you like the hanging umbrellas and seldom seen. There is a small town north-east from Spain, called Brihuega with amazing lavendar fields and during 'open season' they have purple hanging umbrellas.....

It ran from Wednesday to Sunday this year. I think last year it was two weekends :)

It is a lovely festival and it was a joy to watch. As a kid I was not a great fan of mushrooms either. But the other day they came with a dish and I tried them anyway and it wasn't too bad at all. I suppose that not all mushrooms are alike when it comes to texture and taste, and I think that it also makes a difference who cooks them. Speaking about food, are there any Chinese restaurants in Portugal? Here in the Netherlands you can get takeaway Chinese food from the restaurant, and when I go get that I can eat two days from that. Anyway, thanks for sharing 👍

When we arrived here 5 years ago we couldn't find any Chinese restaurants near us, but i think there are a couple now

Talking about Chinese food at a Portuguese party? what a lack of taste... But yes, there have been Chinese restaurants for decades in Portugal.

@@momentos... The Dutch are not exactly known for their fine cuisine. Although it has improved a little over the past decades. And we do not have a large culture of going out to restaurants compared to some other countries. Restaurants are quite expensive here in the Netherlands. Maybe that is why Chinese food, or any takeaway type of food is relative popular, just as snackbars where you can get french fries and places where you can get Shoarma. It is relative cheap compared to going to a restaurant. Real estate and energy costs and wages are high so I think that is why that the traditional restaurants are so expensive in the Netherlands. A meal in a French type of restaurant is twice as expensive as a meal in a Chinese restaurant.

there are plenty of chinese reastaurants in Portugal, I think all over the world , they are so many in population and so its quite common they follow the chinese market, there are plenty of chinese shops to, BUT in this more rural small villages well you would not find them...normally chinese they dont integrate well so they normally need to be near to biguer cities where they have their comunities...I am guessing a little on this but I live in Lisbon area and I see a lot but a lot of chinese reastaurants here and in other smaller cities to but not when u go rural and very small.

Your vlog is very nice but like so many of these it lacks any real facts about the places visited. It is lots of questions from ignorance. Do you even have a translator "Full of life, full of stuff." What stuff? "It's like a medieval village"x 1000 takes yet another drink. Not really an informative travelogue is it? Not even visually informative. Ah well.
