Quante volte ho attraversato il Golfo di Biscaglia...non nascondo un po' di nostalgia del tempo passato. Un caro saluto a tutti i marittimi di tutto il mondo è sempre una grande emozione. Buon vento in poppa a tutti.

I couldn’t help but notice one of the bridge crew blowin’ chunks.🤢🤮🤣 That bow pole has be what, 50-60’ AWL, they were taking on some pretty high seas. She seemed to take it pretty well with the seas coming in as they were. No matter who make ‘em, or what kind of steel they use, these big gals flex , torque and bend quite a bit under this kind of stress. Things can seem pretty relaxed on the bridge, but make no mistake, and ship man makes, the sea still holds all the cards.💨🌊🌬

Great footage!!! Are you the owner of this footage? Is it possible for me to use and upload this footage on my youtube page? I share footage from all kind of activities on our ocean. Cargo ships in the 1960s till now, oil rigs, fishing vessels, inland barge ships, navy, etc. Of course full credit and a link to your KZbin page will be given when I upload. If you want to talk this through via e-mail, that's also possible. My email is on my youtube page. I'm looking forward to your reply. Kind regards. Thanks!

Does the mast on the bow of the ship give the crew any indication of reference to height of swell ?
@julesjulius1876 жыл бұрын
William Bussey Jr. What's a mast?..
@blueherc6 жыл бұрын
No, buddy. That little mast carries the bow navigational light (white) which sits lower than the stern light and in the darkness, other sailors can tell which way the ship is going. They also fly the company's flag with their logo in ports.
@sahilinamdar66816 жыл бұрын
No, it doesn't
@jerrydoolittle97476 жыл бұрын
I'm going to have to disagree with all of the "experts"... The CREW should have an idea of the height of that mast on the bow as well as its height off of the water based upon how deeply laden the ship is. And based on that knowledge they could estimate the height of waves breaking over the bow. I did a quick google check of the ship's specs but didn't get deeply enough into it to figure out the mast's height. Obviously the main purpose of the mast is for the navigation lights...
