I'd guess he must've sung alot and practiced, that's how you hit notes It is possible to just be born like it, natural talent style, but you gotta practice so you don't lose it

So I'm self taught and perhaps professionals might need to correct me but this range is naturally in almost anyone that can scream (technique put aside, like if you got scared shitless). The three main ranges people have are chest voice, head voice and falsetto. Now although falsetto, that super high singing that may sound detached and weak depending on the person, can be trained and strengthened through lip rolls, pitch training. However it doesn't sound like those 80s singers who seem to hit notes higher than clouds. Well in your throat you have a soft pallet that when you raise it, breath in and contract your diaphragm, you can sort of put distortion to your voice. You can choose to add nasally screech to it as well depending on how much air you choose to use.
