Unless you grew up back then its hard to comprehend how over the top and insane this video was. My dad was from the WW2 generation, when this this video came on he just shook his head in disgust. I was 13 and thought it was the coolest shit i had ever seen

it's still insane. do you think any band would be able to release this video today? i don't think so, we live in a very conservative prohibited environment. the 80's is sadly a distant dream. and today's music reflects that perfectly, as its all $hite. in the 80's the best taylor swift could have done no 4 girl in the pen. all hail the crue, guns n roses, and anyone that flew the flag.

I was 15 years old when this song was released. What a phenomenal time to be young when metal was at the beginning of its inception; I will be forever grateful to have experienced bands like Motley Crue, Guns 'n Roses, Skid Row, Metallica, Slayer, White Lion, Poison, etc Kids today don't have a clue about the excitement of buying a new cassette (yes, cassette) and then saving up to see your favorite metal band in concert live. I saw Motley Crue with Foreigner at the Rochester War Memorial n Rochester, NY I'll never forget watching Tommy Lee doing his drum solos airborne and upside down; It was sick!!!! What a great time to have been young, wild and a fledgling metal maiden!!! Thank you Motley Crue for teaching me the correct way to wear eyeliner and hairspray and most of all, thank you for all the fond memories!!! You can't find those on Snapchat, Twitter, Tik Tok or You Tube God bless MTV, metal and long live the music Amen❤💋

Looking back in hind-sight Motley Crue was-is a super group. You have 4 strong personalities or 4 "alphas", strong musicianship from each one of them, Whether you consider Mick's tasty guitar bits ( and perfect metal tone), Tommy's flashy strong drumming , Vince's supreme quality voice on vinyl, or Nicki Sixx's EXCELLENT song writing. Their physical image had cute faces for the girls that cared and tough faces for the guys that didn't . They caught lightning in a bottle for this album, that's for sure.

In the late 80's, my mom worked for FedEx. She delivered to a fancy hood in a place called Bell Canyon. Vince was one of her regulars. She told me, of all the famous people, he was the only one out in the driveway hand washing his cars. He was only one asked how she was doing, and would invite her in for some cold lemonade on a hot day. Said he was genuine as fuck, but she also couldn't help but notice the cloud over him and the sadness.

Everyone was looking at it like WTF… and I’m not sure why. I mean, we all grew up with KISS, for pete’s sake. When the teacher left the room, we really started looking at it and talking about it. I remember there was some, um, confusion about Vince in particular. We knew it was not Christian school approved and we’d get our asses kicked for having it. That was enough for me. This was probably their most theatrical video. There were some great set pieces created for the look of the video, and one repurposed one. The corridor scene uses a repurposed set piece from the 80s Buck Rodgers TV series. It was originally used as one of the generic corridors in the Draconian Flagship. They just added the spikes.

This was one hair band that absolutely shredded it…hard like no other. Bands like Ratt, Poison, even Quiet Riot, and Warrant could not compete with the likes of this. The riffs and percussion were tight hard and clean, blows your hair back and kicks you in the teeth. Vocals by Vince could shatter glass. Tommy Lee pounds it right through your gray matter, like a hot knife through soft butter. When he spins in that tumbling drum set, it fries you but good, Bonham eat your heart out! 👍

The riff that tore up the early/mid-80s. The day they played Seattle after this album came out, my school changed overnight: next day, half the school was wearing Crue shirts, hats, bandannas, you name it. Half of those will probably deny it now, but metal was king that year.
