Hey great videos, Mike. Thanks so much for making these. It has helped me learn a lot about my camera.

It is a great camera Mike, thanks for showing it to us. I can’t help wondering though why you would add a ‘quiet’ operation option? It’s as if the designer has said, “You know what this darn camera is too noisy - let’s add a button to give a near silent mode which we will call quiet mode”. Why not forget the switch and make the quiet mode the default mode as an unique selling point. Now maybe this is just me being devil’s advocate, but it does seem an odd thing to do . Looking forward to seeing more of your Konica Mike, great videos thanks.

The normal mode of the camera is pretty quiet. The silent mode can’t even be heard if there is some ambient sound. Now if you want to hear some noise the Konica film SLRs sounded like a barn door slamming shut! At the time when these came out pros were buying them for a backup camera to put in their equipment bag. The funny thing was they started using the Hexar more and more as their first choice.

Thanks for the tutorial on the Hexar. I just picked one up at my local camera store and it came with the HX-14 flash. I got a nice deal for it and am just starting a roll of Portra 160 on it since max shutter speed is 1/250. My only question is how do you set it on spot metering? You mention it on the video put didn't show it. I also looked through the manual and no mention of it.

When the camera is switched to the M mode, manual exposure mode, it switches the camera to the spot mode. So there is no separate spot metering setting. If you put the camera in the M mode it is in the spot mode. Do you mined we asking how.you paid for ot?

@@m005kennedy thanks for the reply. That is kind of strange that it's only on on M Manual mode as it sure could come in handy in Aperture priority mode. I usually shoot in A mode. What happens if you don't want spot metering in manual mode? As far as how much I paid for it, It was priced at $590, but I am a god negotiator and got it down to $400 and it even came with the original box and in excellent condition.
