That's just plain awesome! Now they gotta develop crossstyles with vikings, knights, pirates, samurais and so on! Endless possibilities and insanly entertaining! Two thumbs up!

DenaroSporco This isn't chivalry: deadliest warrior. I'm sorry but that suggestion is just plain stupid

Zack, I dont quite catch your comment there. No this aint chivalry, its MMA taken to the next level. But why only knights, why not bring back more of the lost warriors of the past? Damn good showfactor but if its honor and nobility you seek I am sad to say you live in the wrong century:)

DenaroSporco Ok so you're saying we should implement Pirates that use flintlock pistols into a fight with Vikings?

+DenaroSporco Chivalry: Deadiest Warrior is a video game. But I do get what he's trying to say. We're living in 2015 (2016 soon) and shouldn't limit ourself to just one specific point in history. It would be interesting to see other styles brought into it as long as it's just melee combat. So no pirates. But Vikings, Samurais, and other types would be just as good to see.

Иван хорошо держался, защита отменная сразу виден опыт, хоть и не хватает силы удара.

It's sad they tried to justify this with some of the fighters taking fencing classes....this is a sport of it's own. More importantly if anything they should be taking HEMA classes.

People underestimate how lethal a blunt sword can still be. Historically speaking swords were never razor sharp as they are made today. Even katana's used in battle weren't razor sharp. For executions they were a bit sharper but generally were fairly blunt. Most of the time they relied on piercing (stabbing) rather than slashing. That all has to do with the armor. Steel armor does a good job on deflecting and absorbng slashing damage, but it wouldn't be possible to enclose a person fully in metal, only the vital parts got that like the head, arms, legs torso. And even then there are huge gaps. Also, the points in this video where 1 guy does a takedown on the other guy is also the point where the guy on top would discard his sword for a knife and use that to stab between the gaps in the armor. Like in the eyes or on joints for example. Also a fun fact: Knights weren't killed that often in combat. To a king, a knight as a very valuable resource and enemies would rather capture knights for a ransom. The more important knights were to a king, the more a king would pay. Which is also most likely to be the origin of the idiom: "A king's ransom."
