I’ve always thought this sampler was very underrated. Before I used to be hesitant about telling people about using BM3. I got my iPad with the same specs. I had a 10.5 but never reached 200 gigs. The advantage of having usb-c is a plus. I got a hub with the headphone output and it works flawlessly. Thanks for sharing. 🙏🏾

Hey Jeff, it’s Jeff! Glad to see you on the iPad and iOS music production. I got my iPad in 2020 (and pencil) during the heights of pandemic and it’s become my primary device. I use various music apps including BM3 and start most of my ideas, beats, samples on the iPad. I still end up in the studio for acoustics and vocals and full DAW, eventually. But the iPad never leaves my side! Just ordered a UA Volt 1 to add to this portable rig. Lots of fun 😁

Great seeing you use the iPad and BeatMaker 3. Its such a great program. Like maschine ableton and mpc had a baby 🤱🏾. Certain synths do cause bm3 to close. One thing yiu can do its record it to an audio track. Bm3 doesn't have track freezing specifically but you can definitely record a bank to an audio track. Last option is to turn one shots into sampled instruments. You can layer and map sounds to the keyboard even by velocity. Been watching your stuff for the maschine but recently put my mk3 up for sale since strictly use the ipad.

I would love for you to show us with older generation ipad pros the ram usage in BM3 on a more than 10-15 track song. A follow up video would be top notch or even a pinned comment from you on here. How many plug-in tracks is it handling well before going over 60% usage? Specific plug-ins that generally caused problems for you on the new ipad? If it IS more stable than before, how many effects does it need to bringing BM to it's knees? Basically your take on a proper stress test. Would be really valuable for me at least to know if I should invest in a current one or if it would just be a marginal improvement. Greetings from Germany and thanks for this video of course. Edit: I just wanted to be clear, that I'm specifically eager to know about the RAM usage% with the focus on a plug-in heavy track. With just sample banks and audio tracks, even my 2017 12.9 inch ipad pro can easily handle 20 and more tracks without breaking to much sweat. It's the multiple AUv3 instrument tracks paired with a good amount of AUv3 effects you can give us more info on. Thanks again. Looking forward to hopefully hear your take on this.

Yeah, it was more stability issues with the other synths I think, but my concern is that bug fixing seems pretty slow on iPad apps these days, I think it must be really hard for developers to make money given the uber-low price bar set over the last 10 years. I still get sticker-shock when I see an app priced or $6.99... which is ridiculous... they need to make money to keep developing!
