the rwd 6pot is always going to be the more driver focused,enjoyable car.the golf r is just a point and go car that gets boring after a while regardless of the power output

Never been in a golf r, but own a m140i and think it’s a great everyday driver. More than happy to walk passed the M4 and drive the m140i . You should compare m135i against the m140i 👍🏻

Basically the Golf R is the girl you went to school or work with you find her attractive you know what she likes and doesn't she accessible, the M135 on the other hand is the mysterious girl you meet on a night out also attractive but very unpredictable will you go home with her? will she give you blue balls? who knows? and this adds to the excitement :D

M135i all the way. ZF gearbox with Widescreen Satellite Navigation. But it has gotta be a 2014 model onwards. Purely for the steering wheel

I prefer the width of the older shape wheel tbf, I loved mine on my M135i, got an m2 now & thinking of getting it beefed up & wrapped in Alcantara. Ye the newer ones look better but from having both I don't feel you have as much grip/control with the newer wheel

@@oliveradamson2957 oh that's good information to know. I'm planning to get a 118i M Sport 2012+ so already I am planning to purchase a 2014 wheel. My dad has got that wheel on his 2015 BMW X5 M Sport so I already love it. I am 19 so I cannot afford the insurance on my fav car which is the Toyota GT86 TRD or the M135i but I will be happy with a 118i M Sport but I dont mind the smaller screen

Its a very difficult decision one I've been wrestling with myself Golf is a very very good all round car a bit soft on the limit.For me M135i won my fourth BMW i just like the way they drive keep you on the edge of your seat and they are a fair bit cheaper for a decent low mileage one.I got a three door manual as could stretch the extra for the Auto which is what i wanted.But more than happy

I have owned both these cars M135i and the new golf r 7.5 both autos and after having the golf r for 2 years i still always miss the M135i that i had for a year great engine and the ZF auto box is by far better than the DSG hands down M135i is the drivers car and had the most fun in it even thinking of getting a M140i auto now lol but obv in the wet cant beat the AWD

I have one of these and love it....until you get a cold spell and the roads are damp and wet you find yourself efffing and blinding when there is no traction whatsoever and a 1.0 litre fiat cruises past you 😂

A m135i X-Drive does have a clear edge over the Golf R. Comparing those 2 would made it easy for you to conclude that the Beemer would definetely be the much better choice. Golf looks and drives like a compact family car no matter how you dress them the BMW have the looks matching where these of cars or meant for that is: FUN. Also a 6 cilinder engine in a hatchback is getting rare you still can get a 2019 build with 6 cilinder sadly also bmw throws in the towel with the 2020 1 series with no 6 cilinder available.

Hope this helps but test drove a golf R, an Audi S3 and an M240 (same as 135 or 140) Golf R was 300bhp and relatively boring, S3 the same, M240 340bhp 3 litre straight six rear wheel drive. If you want to pose but your not a great driver or your a bit scared of old school thrills go for the golf or Audi, otherwise the BMW is a no brainier. Had mine for 18 months and driven in snow and wet with no problems at all, don't be scared and buy a proper car

135i all day long I’ve had both and the Golf (whilst a very capable car) is as dull as dishwater in fact the GTI PP I had previously was a more fun drive, plus you can’t beat a straight six....

I've a Grey, Mineral grey over Oyster leather manual m140 do 1k miles p.a. Sweet car. Never use her. I need a lotus as a toy as in trade just use juice in stock cars.... love m140 tho think the more common GolfR is the better looker but too many rolling around!!!!

I'm late to this video for some reason. But the thing that put me off a golf was car reviewers constantly say how safe and predictable they are that's why I bought an M140i over the golf. Plus the golfs are fairly expensive .

Rich Weston DSG is a lot less fun on windy roads but for straight lines and street races, DSG all day long. I enjoyed my DSG but have recently gone back to manual, I enjoy manual a lot more but miss the DSG sometimes.

Never driven a golf r. Owned a m135i for about a year now . 400bhp. However , only being able to put the power down 10 days a year is annoying .

Anthony Shackleton if your looking to get a diesel one just look out for the exhaust rattle and timing chain rattle. Always ask for a cold start. No cold start no deal.
