The only difference I see from the Colt A1 they gave me on Parris Island is that it had a chrome finish bolt. We were told A2's were on the way, but we never saw them. Now I want one. 😉 🇺🇸 Thank God they could make this video without playing "Fortunate Son". 👍

@@fidelarroyo2182 It had nothing to do with the design of the rifle. The problem was the government decided to use ball powder in the ammunition (because they had a huge contract for cheap ball powder ammo with a certain manufacturer) instead of the original stick powder that worked so well. They also failed to chrome the chambers which Stoner had recommended but the government tried to save money by not doing so. They also told the soldiers they didn't need to clean these rifles, which is ridiculous. All of these issues are what led to malfunctions in the field, costing men their lives. You can't blame that on the design though.

I even specified the buffer weight, buffer spring and gas length and those are reasons why the 20" M16 is soft shooting. @@natedog805402 No argument here. They take such a nice lightweight rifle, shorten it, and then keep hanging stuff on it until it weighs as much as a Garand. Then they wonder why it doesn't perform as well with a 14" barrel as it used to with a 20". I think AK's look better in original wood furniture than in polymer and a cheese grater. Just something about an old school wood and steel rifle, I guess.😉

I was issued an H&R for boot camp in 1989 at Fort Lenard Wood. Her serial number has been lost to time. I loved that ole girl. I bet she was built the same year i was born! I have an A1, A2, A4 and a 516 today. I must admit, the A1 is very special to me!

An M-16 is an AR-15, though an AR-15 isn't necessarily an M-16. (The US military adopted the AR-15 and designated it the M-16, so an M-16 quite literally is an AR-15.)

There are several firearms in the "AR-##" range that are not rifles, including some pistols and shotguns. The AR-15 also was not "renamed" M16. M16 is the military designation that the AR-15 platform was adopted and standardized.

Between 1973 and 1981, I had 6 different sweet 16s. They were all tack drivers. I always qualified Expert. I kept them clean and lubed and they never malfunctioned. My Connie comic book was stolen in 1979 and I wasn't able to get a replacement. If you know, you know.

Tbh, this weapon quite good even within 300 range. It recoil kinda light and the weight wasn't that heavy. M16 was my first rifle I trained with and I surprisingly got 8.7.8 score. We only allowed to shoot 5 bullet tho.

The definition of as far as the United States Army is concerned between an M16 and an AR-15 is the forward assist. Initially AR-15 did not have this feature, nor the bolt. The M 16 also got rid of the three pedal muzzle flash, because it rang. Just saying....................... Oh by the way, M-16A1

Reason being during ww2, g.i’s never bother shooting their m1’s however, they prefer the browning automatic rifle due to its fully auto capability, so mr. Stoner sort of had the idea in creating the very first armalite I think it’s the ar10
