The only difference I see from the Colt A1 they gave me on Parris Island is that it had a chrome finish bolt. We were told A2's were on the way, but we never saw them. Now I want one. 😉 🇺🇸 Thank God they could make this video without playing "Fortunate Son". 👍

@HarborSite-7 5 ай бұрын
@@fidelarroyo2182 It had nothing to do with the design of the rifle. The problem was the government decided to use ball powder in the ammunition (because they had a huge contract for cheap ball powder ammo with a certain manufacturer) instead of the original stick powder that worked so well. They also failed to chrome the chambers which Stoner had recommended but the government tried to save money by not doing so. They also told the soldiers they didn't need to clean these rifles, which is ridiculous. All of these issues are what led to malfunctions in the field, costing men their lives. You can't blame that on the design though.

@@ryanhammond5989 I mean I spelled it out in my original comment but I'm glad there are people out there who can read something and get the context out of it. I even specified the buffer weight, buffer spring and gas length and those are reasons why the 20" M16 is soft shooting. @@oscarlontoc8284 The "AR" in AR-15 does not stand for "Armalite Rifle", it either stands for just "ArmaLite" or potentially "ArmaLite Research". There are several firearms in the "AR-##" range that are not rifles, including some pistols and shotguns. The AR-15 also was not "renamed" M16. M16 is the military designation that the AR-15 platform was adopted and standardized.

Essentially m16 was the military designation while ar15 is the original name. It gets more technical but that’s the short version.

The definition of as far as the United States Army is concerned between an M16 and an AR-15 is the forward assist. Initially AR-15 did not have this feature, nor the bolt. The M 16 also got rid of the three pedal muzzle flash, because it rang. Just saying....................... Oh by the way, M-16A1

Not exactly true, 10s of thousands of m16a1s still had colt AR15 roll marked on them, the M16 was just the designation after full adoption.

@@jizzmonkey9679 AR-15 never came as a forward assist. AR-15 game with the three pedal flash suppressor And were referred to as when I was in. They fooked up this model so bad it's hard to recognize these days. Our platforms are in abundance. (Armalites)

Reason being during ww2, g.i’s never bother shooting their m1’s however, they prefer the browning automatic rifle due to its fully auto capability, so mr. Stoner sort of had the idea in creating the very first armalite I think it’s the ar10
