​@@LordVader1094anything that fires more than one round per pull of the trigger is considered a machine gun. It doesn't matter if it has rifling or what caliber or gauge it is. They've even made double barrel pistols that would fire a round out of each barrel per one pull of the trigger and they were classified as machine guns. They only held 2 cartridges and were not even auto loading. The beehive 40mm round that holds 10 22LR cartridges and fires all 10 rounds with one pull of the trigger and it's considered a machine gun too for the same reason. No rifling, no auto loading, no magazine, no sustained fire... Just more than one round per pull of the trigger.

I predict that I won’t own a full auto in my lifetime, but my son will grow up to have a collection of machine guns. That’s how long it will take. Yeah. This model is patterned after the M16 commando which was developed for cqb. It was part of a swat team until retired in the 90’s.

@@orionfixr7713 It was my choice. I have a very physical job and I was looking at health issues as I get older and struggle to keep up. But mainly I came to the conclusion that if we do wind up in a civil war situation that my stamina and health were my biggest liabilities. For example being able to walk 3 miles each way to the river for water should the need arise. Lots of things change and in a desperate situation our health and fitness become our greatest asset or liability.

I haven’t removed the hand guard to check. I’ve only run a few mags through this upper because I put my Sig piston upper on it and it’s a beast. Easy to clean, reliable and no worries about wearing out my investment.

M16’s come in all sizes. The Commando was designed in the 60’s for close quarters and entry teams. It’s basically the predecessor to our modern Mk18 that the special forces use. (They used them to take out BinLaden). The only significant difference is that the Mk18 has a quad rail.

I’m not sure I understand what you mean. I feel like I’ve been about the same topics as I always have; Defensive firearms (meaning the fun ones). But politics have always been intertwined in the subject of guns. The 2A debate is foundational in the question of what we can have and it’s seemingly always under attack. And the party attacking it is always the same party. So even though I don’t like politics it affects our lives and freedoms in a very profound way.
