Wow that’s amazing that the turbine wheel had enough force to puncture the cast iron housing like that. The maximum rating for that Borg Warner turbo is 186,000 RPMs so that thing had to be well over that speed when it failed.

Is that the camera or is the actuator rod slightly bent from being so tight? Depending on the camera angle it looks like it might be bent slightly.

If you run lean you can damage anything. Fuel pressures and trims are critical for forced induction/direct injection engines. In turbocharged tuned vehicles, backpressure can damage turbos and exhaust valves. Best to have experienced people/shops like Tasos and Gulf Performance do tunes to make sure it is safe.

My thoughts are why tune so high and destroy the engine. With a standard amg it's quick enough to enjoy and reach 120kmh and beyond.
