Enjoy! We had fun with it, but I hadn't used it in years and decided to sell it to someone who would get some use of it.

I started mine in reverse with out the crank. Move time to reverse start., cut ignition. when fly wheel is about stopped, turn ignition on. The compression will kick the piston backwards and the engine will reverse. Also, I used 50,000 VDC auto coils. But you have to lengthen out the timer linkage so the spark is advanced. With a buzz coil, the spark happens when the timer blade touches the set screw. With the auto coil, it sparks when the points are open. There is a cam on the crank shaft that pushes up on the timer blade & touches the set screw where your + wire is attached to. Dick Ray & I used to have discussions about Buzz vs Auto coil. I was on the South Branch Valley and they went to push me back ward because of the auto coil. I put the car in reverse, engaged the belt and took off leaving them behind. The weak part of the buzz coil is that there is a primary and secondary coil connected to each other and if that wire breaks no spark. Somebody came up with a solid state buzz coil which eliminates this problem. You can order it for ROC, QBD single and RKA/RKB Fairmont opposed twin cylinder engines. If the buzz coil is 6VDC and you are running an alternator, you must use a resister or 12v to 6 v converter. Another advantage of an alternator is that it puts out 100% power at low RPM's. The GM alternator has an internal regulator. Get one from the junk yard and have them test it. Get one with the harness. Take those two wires and combine them run that to your ignition lights etc. On the large terminal, run that to the + on your battery. Put a ground wire on the alternator mount and bolt that to the chassis. On the plug, one wire is to excite the alternator field and the other is for the regulator/load. My Alternator came from an Olds 88"Loaded". My cars were M19E-3-7 M1171, M19F M1705 and MT14L 155-11

This is an excellent video mainly due to your knowledge and ability to clearly and properly explain procedure and operation of the unit. Well done and thank you. I'd love to own that unit but need to sell a tie crane first lol.
