Been riding for 26 years. FS bikes are insanely complicated. With 2 to 3 rides a week, It takes me a few months to really dial in a bike. Especially a bike built from frame up. Stems, bars, seat adjustments, suspension pressure, rebound speed, cleat placement, tire pressure, tire compound, etc, etc. Cant tell you how many times a first few rides left me feeling high $ bikes were crap just to tweak a few things and fall in love. I guess moral of this is tweak, tweak and tweak some more.

I've watched Commencal from afar for a while now. Heck I even visited them in Andorra 18yrs ago on our Europe trip from NZ! I've followed your channel for a few years now and your journey with the Meta. 2 weeks ago I bought my first Commencal Meta AM and I must say I love it! It's also my first 29er. I'm not a massive fan of this super long reach tend so I opted for a small as I stand at 173cm on a good day! So pleased I did! As this bike is probably one of the most playful bikes in any wheel size I've ever owned. Plus it's super stable at the speeds I reach and just rails corners! Thank you for sharing your experience over the years. This is actually the first time someone else's "KZbin" content has actually clarified a purchase decision for me. And I'm super happy with it! Stay stoked, ride on 🤘

I have been watching your videos since 2017 and I bought a Meta TR recently due to your reviews. The bike is great and takes abuse on the trail like no other bike. Thanks for all the great advice on Commencal bikes.

That’s a big plus that I don’t think I’ve shared. How sexy the bike is yet I don’t mind abusing it on the trails. Unlike my other carbón bikes…where I’ve worried about cracking/scratching the frame. Thanks for the support all these years 👊

@@chrisanderson8578 I’ve stayed on a Medium even now. The bike grew for sure, but it works. Steepening the seat tube helps a ton when seated. The longer wheelbase keeps is very stable but still maneuverable. I’m personally glad I didn’t size down. Thought about it, but didn’t

@@AdventureRich I didn’t say much other than finances changed and I I ended up selling it. I’ve owned a couple of other SC bikes since (2022 Bronson and 2023 Heckler SL) Strangely enough, they find their bikes way too plush for my liking.

I only have one problem with Commencal, my old bike is so good that i can't motivate myself to buy a new. I still ride my V4 from 2015, upgraded each year, but now with the mullet i hope i can pull the trigger on one for next year at least.

I've definitely liked the few Commencals I've had. I've gone to Golden Colorado a couple times a demo their bikes. I'd say the only thing you could add is a little more insight as to why you liked it over the other bikes as far as peddling and handling.

Rode an SX and I'll say it was a pretty decent bike. However, after riding a Evil Insurgent MX there was just no comparison. Bought my MX and received it last month and WOW! THIS BIKE IS SO GOOD! Making me push out of my limits a bit too much. Evil did it right with this bike.

Are you riding size M meta Sx? I recalled when you have your Ripmo size M that its a bit too small for you. So just checking the sizing with commencal.

Yea, medium meta SX. Commencal’s sizing is very different than Ibis. Much bigger

aslong as the BB cups are actually round, there is no issue with pressfit. except needing more care installing/removing Threaded is easier for sure but a quality cup is what makes a pressfit worry free... most brands cant get them round... a few have figured it out via Using a quality Alloy insert.
