Honestly dude the exhaust sounds insane, I love it. I’ve been on the fence of either getting the new Type R or getting a VA STI and I feel like I’ve made my final decision. I’ll get the VA and then in a few years I’ll try and also get the new Type R. The STI would be my track car but for now it’ll be my daily and the new Type R would be my new daily when that time comes. I’ve just always wanted to build an STI and I’ve already built my SI (no built motor, not worth at all imo on the small 1.5) keep the vids coming bro!

After a close look I see that you’ve got the exact setup as I do with the resonator. Loving the burnt blue look as well as the violently aggressive tone, not for everyone though.

If the volume starts to bother you, you can get the ETS Quiet axleback part and it's a direct very easy swap that will save your sanity on the much longer trips. Most importantly though, it still sounds really REALLY good. :)

Yes, the exhaust is interchangeable, which is a nice aspect of it as well. I prefer my cars much louder than most, so don’t think I’ll go to the quiet version.

Fortune enough to build my own and it was a nightmare to find the exact tips I wanted, added chambered mufflers , powder coated black tips for many reasons. #1 I hate seeing black crap on shiny tips and it doesn't take long. Vbands all the way even cut off grimmspeed dp flange replaced with vband. Actually run vbands to replace the resonator with ease or straight pipe.

Hey, been following you for a while and this inspired me to go with an ETS Resonated Stealth Tip for my 2017 WRX. I haven’t purchased it yet. Couple quick questions if you wouldn’t mind providing the advice before I buy. 1st question: what do you think this should be worth used? (supposedly 3k miles on the exhaust I am looking at) 2nd question: Any issues/differences with bolting this onto the stock downpipe (still worth it?)? Cheers and thanks for all the great vids so far

Depends on the condition of the used piece. You’ll need the adapter to bolt it up to the stock downpipe.

I had a non res midpipe setup when I first went to equal length and it was very raspy. The res midpipe removes that unwanted rasp on el setups.

Where is it leaking from? If the connection point, a proper gasket will resolve the issue.

I've been trying to adjust my ETS. Unfortunately the V bands seized up. I ordered new ones last night. Hoping this allows for better adjustment to the fitment. Other than movement side to side, could you adjust the tips more inside of the bumper? I have one side that sticks out further... It's also the Vband that is seized up.

Yes you can adjust. Loosen everything and make the adjustments as you tighten the v bands down.

The person I bought it off of has an invidia r400, but in the 3000+ rpm range, it becomes unbearable for me (too much drone), so anything in between stock and the r400 :)

I have a Borla Type S exhaust, I’m running a cat less downpipe and it’s still very daily driver friendly with no drone, honestly one of the best sounding exhausts I’ve heard for an STI, just wish it was a little louder personally. You should check it out!

Depends on what you are going for. If pairing with stock headers, I would say go with the non resonated. If el, go resonated to reduce the rasp.

It’s on par with the cold start I’d say. But due to the overall deepness from the ets, so far I think this edges out the tomei. I’ll have to see once I drive it to get better opinion on the overall volume.

There’s going to be drone with any setup I run due to what’s on the car. It’s not a daily so drone isn’t a large concern of mine.

That ETS sounds crazy ! But I have a question for the tomei , I have it on my wrx and at the second clamp closer to the back I have a tiny exhaust leak but I’ve moved the clamp multiple times and can’t fix it /: did u have this issue or is there something I might be doing wrong ?

You can use some of the copper antiseize it comes with to seal it up better. Most likely you overtightened the clamp and bend the piping a bit.
