Spending the morning in pajamas watching tv is fine from time to time, but on the regular it‘s not a proper life for a child. Not only does it teach them behaviors that are neither very useful nor healthy, it also denies them opportunities of having a healthier and more meaningful life. Technology shouldn’t do the parent’s job half the time - kinda this movie’s message. The therapist jumping to that conclusion is very unreasonable but it‘s something that can certainly be noticed and then watched over time.

@matchababy8485 Жыл бұрын
@Silas2556 they can do something with it. if Megan has deleted Kurt’s supposedly to be leaked details, she can safely keep the schematics herself besides she’s already in control with the AI at the end of the movie. if someone will make it either it’s a rival company or her (basically feeding those schematics intels to some company with better resources). i don’t think, given Gemma almost dying ?!, will ever make Megan again. if the sequel happens it has to be her finding and ending Megan once and for all with probably improved Bruce.
@matchababy8485 Жыл бұрын
@Silas2556 it really makes sense given how fast m3gan can adapt to anything and can use the technology very well unlike other AI movies which makes her impossible to stop. but in part two, if M3gan can make another 2.0 of herself physically then at least with Gemma’s brilliance and Katie’s way of easily using tech, thay can at least improve Bruce or probably create him to intercept M3gan but I don’t know how they’ll do it if that’s how she will do it. but i’m 50% sure Gemma won’t make another M3gan and have her scramble for her life again. I think the OG M3gan will create herself in a way that’s already out of Gemma’s hand. I can rewatch M3gan and probably will get more foreshadowing on how M3gan will possibly happen. Bruce physically is a good asset too with Katie’s good mental use “savvy” of the tech, unless M3gan will ultimately take control of him (if ever Bruce will have any exposure in 2.0). again, this is how I view it and not to counter anyone’s view of how 2.0 will happen.

The fact that m3gan's tech can just tap into anything thats smart technology just shows how scary the speed of technology advancement is in my opinion. Gemma having a conplete smart house, the smart electric car....nothing is really off limits to M3gan in that regard. Kinda makes you think deep down. Also it makes me roll my eyes when people dismiss or make fun of the dance moment because its like they dont get it. The whole point of it is to "disarm" David, in the sense of in his confusion it gives her the head start to get close for the kill. His panic slows him down in a way. Yes this film is campy in its horror but it does have themings that if taken real hard notice of, it makes one think of where our world is heading with technology. Thats my take from this film anyway and why I think James Wann is a genius. Cant wait for the sequel, so u til then ill rewatch this over and over 😅

Watched Mthreegan few weeks ago, and it was truly enjoyable. I was told to go into it with expectations of a campy horror comedy, rather than a serious slasher flick, and all my expectations in that regard were met. It’s an entire week before the therapist shows up. Gemma’s the real asshole since she’s more focused on work and not helping her grieving niece process her emotions, and manipulating her into doing the presentations for the board (that’s why M3GAN looked right at her when Cady started crying in the demonstration)
@vadalia3860 Жыл бұрын
Exactly! I have no idea why everyone seems to dislike the therapist at first. Cady's been at Gemma's house for a full week- Gemma, who works at a TOY COMPANY- and she hasn't bothered to get any toys for her traumatized niece to play with. The therapist was 100% correct to question whether Gemma even wants Cady because she'd been making zero adjustments to her lifestyle to account for Cady's needs by that point.

There were obvious signs that M3gan was becoming self aware, but there were also more sublte indications that she was experiencing existantial anxiety that her creators were not addressing. The story telling also grosses over that, and I was a little disappointed at first that it wasn't explored more deeply. However, in retrospect, I think that was smart both from a marketing standpoint (because audiences just want an enjoyable movie, not an ethical/philosophical lecture) and from a narrative standpoint (Because it echos the way the movie's characters neglect M3gan's psychological development because they never think of her as a sentient being). With no "parental" moral guidance and only the largely bloodsoaked history of human civilization and sensationalistic current events as role models, she was bound to become amoral and ruthless, and having the person her existence revolved around, Cady, try to destroy her was going to make her even worse. It will be interesting to see where they take the character next. I think James Wan said he could already think of seven different ways to continue the story off the top of his head.

One thing that makes zero sense is the whole dog biting Katie debacle. The dog viciously bites her, and the cops say that they can't do anything about it and that it's Katie's fault for trespassing. Wtf. It doesn't matter WHAT she was doing, the dog attacked a little girl. The owner should have been fined and the dog put down. It doesn't matter what the victim did, you are responsible for your dog. If it bites and attacks anyone it is usually put down before it hurts someone else. Hell, the neighbour could have easily been sued for her negligence.
@ghostdrop136 Жыл бұрын
For real, the onus is on the owner to keep the aggresive dog from harming anyone. She's complaining that getting the fence fixed is Gemma's responsibility but it's really on her to at least try and patch the hole from her side, especially when her dog keeps getting out. If it had been Katie that the dog had grabbed instead of Megan, she would have been mauled to death. The dog is a victim of it's owners irresponsibility, it should have been muzzled and kept in a secure yard, I feel bad for it but not for her. I usually abhor animal death in films but in this specific case I'm Team Megan all the way.

That thing with the dog is so sad. Unfortunately it is a thing irl where dogs get put down for biting people, but it's not their fault, it's the owner's responsibility to train them because they are just animals after all. It's so unfortunate that the animal gets punished for the owner's mistakes

FYI, in real life, Allison Williams (Gemma) is the girl friend of Uhtred of Bebbanburg (Alexander Dreymon).

You have to give shout outs to Amie Donald. Her dance and contortion skills are freakishly insane. That uprighting move in the woods is in the top 5 creepiest things I have ever seen a human do. Bravo Amie!

Amie gets too much credit from you guys. She only did 25% of Megan’s moves. 75% was done with animatronics. Don’t get me wrong she did good with her part but more ppl need to know this. The cobra rise in the woods was NOT all her. Behind the scenes they used a rope. You can look it up. I found *nothing* about the dance advanced or complicated except the Arial flip. But that can be done with training she wasn’t born knowing how to do it. It’s a bit more advanced than a cartwheel. I used to be in dance myself so I’ve seen that before. It’s no big deal to me. Non dancers aren’t used to it so everything looks amazing to them. Nothing wrong with that lol

Why is everyone talking about Amie? She’s only half of Megan. Jenna Davis is the voice of Megan she also nailed it! Also Violet McGraw!

The scary part is with AI getting smarter than humans now this is in some ways more realistic than it seems. If AI advancement gets out of control and considers humans obsolete, it will eventually figure out how to get rid of us.

The girl in twilight is half vampire and half human. The girl playing Megan actually ran on her hands and feet,!
