was still using my Late 2012 Mac Mini (upgraded to 16/512GB with an SSD). still a super stable computer even with 4 browser windows with 15 tabs on each.

It really is a good value little machine, you can clearly see they have taken time to provide what most users actually need rather than theoretical use by a niche of hardcore programmers and the like. I bought one on an impulse and it's sat on top of my big desktop PC (64gb ram big ass Ryzen monster) and the PC hasn't been turned on in the couple of weeks I've had the mini. I've never felt it has struggled, I've been playing my games on Whisky and crossover and getting a bunch of my ham radio software working. Some has needed a little work, but got it all working.

What we need now is a 27inch iMac with the M4 and M4 Pro chip But a man can only dream I suppose...

I still have a 2014 Mac mini that runs fine for everyday internet use as a media server to my Apple TV and homebridge server

I wish reviewers looked at software development workflows. Compiling web, Xcode or C# apps and benchmark the results. Specifically for this device that I personally see it as very atractivo for software developers.

I’m inclined to agree - often times when it comes to learning about specific use cases (other than video/photo editing) I’ll browse on forums like Reddit where the barrier to entry is much lower. KZbin is a bit weird because in order to produce videos that perform well, you (probably) need to have some skill with editing/shooting, and not every software developer might have the time to master that craft (making a generalisation here)
@rnrbishop2 ай бұрын
to be fair, the base model isn't aimed at such users.
@GerardoBuenrostro2 ай бұрын
@@rnrbishop I don’t agree with that. The base model looks to be a very capable machine. That’s why I believe it can handle software development. Maybe the 256 SSD might choke with all the development apps and SDKs, I’ll give you that. But even the M1 could be used for web development.
@rnrbishop2 ай бұрын
@@GerardoBuenrostro i mean you could have a long video covering all use cases, but again its not typical for the majority of users. Likely if you are at that level, you'd know whether it would work for you or not. It's certainly more computer than I need day to day

Nice review on this. good work.. The power button, someone may design a 3d print lever, that clips on the edge, but you pull the lever to press the button when needed. I got a mac mini M2 Pro 10‑core CPU, 16-core GPU, 16‑core Neural Engine, 32GB unified memory back in january, with no word back then of a new system coming out, i usually opt for early model machines, cause of bugs or hardware issues like when the m2 came out, (wont go into detail, but you'll know what i'm referring to) i noticed the M4 has a 10-20% increase. Eventually i may sell the m2 and upgrade when it's become crucial. Overall these silicon cpu systems are opening areas more than i had seen from intel/amd.

Thank you. Sure there will be plenty of accessories aimed at resolving the power button issue. Still impresses me how Apple are able to continuously improve the performance on their chipsets even when they’re this good

@@sukhdeepsm Even the emulation some have been running ms games or xb , its improved quickly in a short time, on someones m3 cpu emulation video, when using crossover. Although i've not seen the whisky app or alternatives used as much. Eventually they'll crack the game market fully, when it comes to triple A's but for everything else, they're doing extremely well, even coders and compiling is much more rapid. I wonder what next field they will delve into.

Question: I see you are not using a case for the iPhone. Do you put it face down or up?
@sukhdeepsm2 ай бұрын
Ah, didn’t even realise I did that. Usually I do wear a case, but sometimes in videos I like to showcase the design (for aesthetic purposes) so have it caseless

Just because of the stupid power button I won't buy it, seriously we should punish stupid design
@GaboH-h7s2 ай бұрын
@pabloferez4722 not me but if enough people stop buying them then it would matter that's why I said we should punish bad design... Seriously people admire apple but there have been very few products from them that are actually good.

Although I love your video, anything more that the 600$ version is pretty much scam. also i find it annoying how you keep adding puases in bettwen sentences, most popular tech tubers have a flow with their videos. It also sound AI, its so monotone, maybe use more energy or happiness, just lowkey depressing, although I LOVE UR CAMERA SHOTS!!!!
@sukhdeepsm2 ай бұрын
Thank you for the feedback - I imagine that’s because of the way I’ve stitched the clips together in editing, so will look to change that for future videos. Yeah, I should also note that this review primarily relates to the base model - once you begin adding upgrades the value proposition degrades significantly
