As an engineer who works in the semiconductor industry in Silicon Valley, I can say that it is inconceivable that legitimate images of the layout of the M4 SOC would ever be leaked by an engineer - especially an Apple engineer.

I have to applaud Apple for the Apple Silicon Generation. I am on my 16-inch M1 Max, and this thing hasn't slowed down at all. It is one of the best products I've owned.

I also own M1Max with 64GB RAM and... yeah... it's weird that it's still so fast... even now with newest MacOS and Xcode it's working even faster than before. My plan is to wait for M5/6 Max at least with Thunderbolt 5 support.

Same. 16” M1 Pro 16/1TB. Still faster than I need and still can’t tax it hard enough to slow down to a speed I’m unhappy with. Office apps and heavy Photoshop work. Maybe if video were in the mix, I might feel I need more ram or processor. But for now, this thing is rock solid even still.

I'm just waiting to hear about the M4 pro chip specs. It's crazy that we haven't heard basically anything yet if apple is supposedly having their event this month. Last year we heard tons of rumors on the high end laptops a few months before they came out at the end of October in 2023. Also, does this mean we'll get 32 gigs of RAM for the high end models? They put it up to 18 gigs of Ram last year and surely wouldn't drop it back down to 16 now that the entry MBP is being brought up to 16 gigs of Ram.

Regarding Point 6 what are the comparison of M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max How does the entry level price of m4 MBP Base model develop compared to the m3 MBP Base model (100 Bucks like the comparison M2 to M3, or taking into account the expanded memory app. 300 bucks , so the entry model jumps from 2000 to 2300 bucks, and the diffrence from the non pro to the pro narrows by at least 200 bucks.

Finally Apple will solve the biggest problem with MBP14" M3 regular: 16 GB RAM! But this says nothing about MBA M4. I hope for 12 or 16 GB standard but I'm worried about 8 GB. So what about MBP with M4 Max/Pro? 32 GB RAM standard?

A Pro with a 512 gb hard drive!!!!! That’s all very well but if they only come with the base level 512gb hard drive then the life of the laptop is limited unless we pay their extortionate fee for a larger hard drive.Apple knows the hard drive isn’t big enough.

The base M3 MacBook Pro come with Thunderbolt 3 as per Apple’s tech specs. The base M4 MacBook will come with Thunderbolt 4 connectors. Doesn’t that imply that the M4 Pro/Max will come with Thunderbolt 5 given that the M3 Pro/Max MacBooks come with Thunderbolt 4?
