I have m4 pro MacBook Pro and it was hitting 75-80c under load but fans were audible. My M1 Pro was hitting 95c but was pretty much silent. Mac mini would be similar, I’d guess

Thanks for this video! I’m interested in upgrading my Intel-based iMac to a newer silicon system and the new Mac Mini is intriguing. I primarily use my computer to record and mix music using Logic Pro but I would also like to do occasional 4k video editing in Premiere or Resolve. I also do a lot of Photoshop and software development as well. Would a fully loaded Mac Mini M4 Pro with upgraded cores(14-CPU and 20-GOU) with 64GB of RAM and 1TB SSD be a good choice? I think it clocks in around $2400 with these options. Or should I look at getting a pre-owned Mac Studio with something like a M2 Max or M1 Ultra which I can find for pretty much for the same price as the loaded Mini?

My few hours old M4 basic mini with 24GRaM halved Autodesk Maya rendering from 2 hours with M1 16gb down to 57 minutes. Amazing cheap machine.

Thanks for the in-depth review! I'm definitely going to grab the M4 pro to replace my M2 base model. Love the smaller new design and it's everything I need for my workflow with some future proofing (especially for the price).

The power button is on the bottom rear so that you will want to purchase 3rd party docking station which are showing up now. They lift the unit and provide opening for easy access. Corporations are in bed together.

The only time I use the power button on a Mac Mini is to start it up after a power outage

Any more, I'm not sure what's "Pricey." If I spend $1399 on the M4 Pro version, that seems cheap. I go online, click a few buttons, and in a few days it arrives.

That is what I was sent. Different reviewers receive different configs rather than everyone getting the same. There will definitely be buyers for the Pro as well who will want info on it, but definitely less than the standard model!

Exactly this. Every review that I’ve seen thus far has been of the M4 Pro. Weird that’s all that Apple sent out. I guess we’ll have to wait until reviewers that actually purchase their hardware get their units for M4 reviews. Sadly. 🤷‍♂️
