M50B30 Stroker | Blocked Cats and General Update

Back with the M50B30 stroker build. After not really looking at it since building it last year I thought it better get it on the road now and rest it out.
I started it up after not starting it for a few months and it's running lumpy, I noticed the cat glowing red, after removing the catylitic convertor It was blocked and the cat had broke apart..
I will make a new decat exhaust in the next epsiode and hopefully it will be running better again..

I fucking hate e36 electric window's! I fixed mine, then they broke a few months later! I don't open my fronts anymore!! 🤷🏻‍♂️

Your not the only one Robert. They are a terrible design.. And the cheap aftermarket mechanisms are never any good.

@@GaragE36uk I wish I could just have manual winders 🤦‍♂️, I like the compacts u've got there, avus blue is great colour although my saloon looks like it has exma coz of the laquire peal lol

Did you ever get this thing dynoed? If so, how much power did it end up making n/a, and boosted?

This has sat out the back of the workshop rotting away for the past year or so. Never dynod it.. Plans are to finish a few bits off over the next few months and get it on the road. So busy with day to day customer work. I haven't had the time or motivation to work on my own projects, unfortunately.

@GaragE36uk gotcha. I'm about to take on a similar project. I was hoping to see some real-world power numbers from this stroker build. Any guesstimate as to what it will make wheel hp wise?

Really hard to say. But it's the fastest e36 6 clyinder engine I have driven. I built my from spare parts I had lying about, the full build cost me £652.

Hi mate I know it mite be abit of an old thing mate, but any chance of you doing a video of a m50 manifold swap? I'm sick of watching American videos of swaps on m3's. Every video I've watched seems to leave me confused! I have a m52b25 engine, I have a m50 manifold... I've baught all new gaskets, going to sort out rocker cover at the same time. I'm in the process of making an adaptor plate. Pamo on utube has made a good video of how to make some of the pipe work out of copper pipe. Great that saves some money there but every time I think I know what I'm doing I watch another video & end up confused! U boy's seem to know what your doing , I'm sure I'm just being stupid but I just want to know I'm going to be doing it rite & have everything I need to do it properly & not half arsed before I take it off 🤣

@@robertbaker6012 in regards to the m50 manifold I will be doing one in the next few days/week, it's pretty straight forward but I will video it If I can mate..
