For point of reference the M5 light tank was an upgrade to the previous M3. Both called the Stuart, the M5 used the same basic design including a pair of Cadillac V8s in the rear. The gun was a 37mm and obviously the M5 like the M3 was not intended to engage anything but likewise armor. Against similar units the M5 had a good combat record. ( typically engaging German Puma units or light panzers, anything bigger then a panzer 2 or 3 posed a problem for the M5). The tank again was an uparmored M3. About 1942/43 they began to phase in the M24 Chaffee which was the M3/M5 replacement. ( Keeping in mind the M3/M5 was essentially a pre WW2 design from the 1930s). The M5s high silhouette made scouting a problem later in the war ( higher silhouette tanks were a problem until after WW2). In the Pacific however the M5 compared very favorably against IJA designs as the Japanese tanks were under gunned and under armored. This model depicts an M5 from the ETO based on the Hedge chopper which the allies needed to break through Normandy’s dense hedgerows. ( most hedge choppers were repurposed German beach fortifications altered into the shape). The American light tank line ran until the M-41 Walker Bulldog. After that the army decided light tanks served no real purpose until the recent introduction of the M-10 Booker. The primary post war role of light tanks was airborne firepower or quick deployment units.

@@RCTanksTrucks247 Is there a way to turn off pivot steering? Something I always do for models depicting vehicles that couldn't(or seldom did) pivot steer on their own. Those tracks are also really loose. Seen a few guys with these take a link out of each run to help with that. Yours thrown any tracks yet? Coolbank's pretty new on the scene but they got a lot of interesting models on the market already. Churchhill, M60 Patton, Bradley IFV all come to mind.

I have the M5A1 Stuart a while now and I'm in good contact with the company and owner. They're constantly developing new tanks and upgrades. Their current tank in late stage development is the British Crusader and future plans are the M8 HMC, Pz.Kpfw. 38(t), Su-76 etc. Edit: As for the tracks, for some reason they keep it loose so you might wanna get rid of 1 track link for better performance

Mine came with smoke unit cap "fuel cap" missing. I am arguing with a robot in China. So much for "missing part guarantee". They will not loose face and admit it was not installed. Seen another review of someone else in Germany with same problem.

Your Canon is in the recoil position. It should move in and out when firing the main gun. It looks stuck in the recoil position or not working.
