Your reviews are simply awesome! I own an M5CS and totally agree that it is a little too heavy and a bit under-tired. I tried taking mine to the track earlier this year and she was a pig. Needs 315s in the back for sure. My M3CS should arrive in late August I am told. I cannot wait!

We’re taking it to the track next month and will post about that as well. Going to baseline it against a GT4RS probably so we know exactly where it stands. Either way it should be really enjoyable on the track!

@@carhoney oh my GT3 RS does not come in until November when I actually am hoping to pick it up in Germany via the European delivery. However, I did drive my 2021 GT4 on track quite a bit and I can tell you that the two experiences could not be any more different, I mean the GT4 versus the M5CS. Speaking of benchmarking, the best sport sedan I have ever driven is 2019 jaguar project 8. I am very lucky to own one. I’m very curious how the M3 CS is going to compare to the Jag. Horsepower is about the same, the weight is about the same. Same trans. Both are RWD biased AWD system. He would be super cool to drive these two back to back on a nice track, both with Cup 2 tires on. I bet it is a very close match. The Jaguar is just sublime from the standpoint of chassis dynamics and especially suspension set up. That is why, even today, it is the fastest.ICE sedan at the Ring.

@@timmietz I can’t believe you own a project 8, that’s definitely a bucket list driving car for me. It’s sort of an underground legend for sure but having never driven one I can only imagine. If you’re up for it we could make a track day/test like that happen.

@@carhoney here is what I would like to suggest: once my M3 CS is in and it is broken in, maybe you guys can fly out to Florida and we can go record a comparison test at Roebling Road, which is about 2 1/2 hours away from where I live. I think that would be a quite a unique comparison test for sure, if we could do that in December 2023 or perhaps in January or February 2024. Just a wild crazy idea. The only other track possibility would be the Ferrari track day at Daytona, which is about an hour and a half away from where I live, which usually takes place at the very end of January, right after the Rolex 24 race. But that one is a little more restrictive and a little more complicated from what you probably would be able to film. Think about and let me know.

Both are great cars but if i had the choice and the money of course i would go for the m5 cs. One thing that I’m confused by is why bmw put rear buckets in the m5 but not in the m3 considering that the m3 is a more sportier platform compared to the bigger m5 saloon.

Id take the M3CS cause the M3 is just my favourite M car simply put, and from what I’ve heard the tuneability is way better on the M3 and it can comfortably get to 700hp which I’d like to do personally

Do an Akra for track but it gets expensive, if you want to go a little cheaper than that Remus is very cool sounding. You can also just do a mid pipe which sounds really good too.

Active Autowerks... In conjunction with the Dahler exhaust flap module. I used AA's midpipe, secondary cat & resonator delete, and the Dahler in conjunction with the factory box and I love the outcome. My car is factory quiet when the valves are closed and reasonably noisy when open and ASD disabled. Meaning you hear the exhaust and it's readily identifiable as an inline 6 screaming towards 7k, but no pops, bangs, burbles, or sound from the speakers. Edit: even with bimmercode (I use it as well) you can't fully open the flaps without an override module like Dahler or whomever else you decide to go with.

After these reviews I kind of think, is the M3 CS a better car than the M4 CSL? The CSL has good reviews but not like this one. It will be interesting to see. Btw even if there weren't so many changes in the F80 CS in compared to F80 Comp, I loved that car and was super close to buy it in 2019.

I'd want the M3 with the M5's engine swapped in. To me the M3 looks better but the M5 sounds better, so the smaller car with the larger motor. A 1 of 1 then swap the n54 in a 335i with the M3's engine would be pretty crazy too, 500hp in the even lighter 335i sedan would be wild on the street at stock form

Do a single midpipe. Any company, active autowerke is the best. Muffler is good stock as are the downpipes. Doing downpipes would gain a lot of HP, but also unnecessary volume+rasp.

The m5 is clearly faster yet you try to make an argument that the m5 can’t catch up after giving the m3 a considerable jump. I don’t really believe you brought a real comparison for people to utilize. I own a m5cs and have the m3cs coming soon, fyi.
