The patch is...kind of disappointing. Sure some of the fixes are nice but nothing addressing pistols, shotguns, awful and inconsistent performance, AI being able to shoot through bushes, and them being able to hipfire you with near perfect accuracy while hip firing and moving at insane distance. Hopefully patch 2 drops soon and actually fixes these things

Volumetric fog such as this is literally a fps killer not just eyes strainer

Its also used to improve performance by letting the engine cull objects at a closer distance, the fog is used to cut visibility of longer ranged assets so you don't see the LOD difference or even the fact that the game isn't rendering anything behind that fog at all.

What is the benefit of moving map to map? I know this was how they wanted the game to be implemented originally. But what is the advantage now as opposed to extracting, dumping your inventory, and then going to the other map fresh?

Well if you still can just extract to your stash, there is no benefit, it would be a useless feature. If you're not gonna be able to extract to your stash from anywhere, that would be a problem. So I'm pretty worried about this feature.

Yeah I'm with you on that too, the game's entire loop is built around extracting and going to your stash between raids... Adding map to map just seems pointless at best, and could destroy the game's entire loop at worst

Because I think in the grand scheme of things, BSG wanted to traders to be accessed only from within the maps themselves like mechanic factory, lightkeeper, etc., which would require you to go in between maps. there’s a really good video about it. I just can’t remember what it’s called.

And no, the fog kills performance. the fog remover mods gave me more FPS cuz they use unoptimized calculations, as usual. It does suck you can't get all achievements now. Interestingly enough, I found that the fog removal mod on FIKA (Co-op mod for SPT) increased my framreate by about 3 fps. Not sure if that would translate to live or not.

​@vinddictive_8468 My squad has been playing it quite a bit, and while it definitely doesn't replace PvP, there's definitely something to be said for just enjoying the game without having to worry about all the live game bullshit. The AI are very dangerous, there's lots to do, there is interaction with other players on the Flea Market, etc. It's nice to just enjoy a raid and a night of questing without having to worry about getting sniped by a cheater or having to worry about if you'll get for enough to have fun before the next wipe. On PvE, I've only been extract camped a single time (Tagilla on Factory lol). Again it doesn't replace PvP obviously, but it's fun and it's nice to enjoy the game and just go do what you want to do without all the stress and bullshit of the live game. There's definitely plenty of challenge on PvE.

I just hope that moving from map to map involves more maps, not just street and one more map, since seems like streets is bsg's favorite child, while they can't understand that most of the community can barely run streets. Same as they did with their expansion and their moving lil car. This is the reason i stopped playing the game, a lot of the new content they push is streets, and people can't run it. I can at 60fps but i can't play with my friends at all. This is an issue that seems will stay forever, the performance problem.

HERE'S THE DEAL: Tarkov is full of cheaters because of RMT. Streamers and Players let Nikita off the hook for saying "We are banning cheaters. bla bla bla." Those cheaters rebuy and come back. That puts money in Nikita's pocket. If Nikita REALLY CARED he would change the core mechanics in Tarkov that attract RMT Cheater. Nikita continues down the road of fake engagement and destroying much of what was built over the last few years. Most of the changes are drastic attempts at turd polishing, understanding that the underlying code that runs the game is fundamentally broken (aka, the turd in question). Gray Zone was a rush release . You shoot at a dude who hasn't had a straight meal with full metal jacket and it takes more than a whole clip to get him down after shooting center Mass . Dear nice guy. You hate me I understand. But I've written you many times complaining about bsg tailoring the game around cheaters and loud mouths for years. Destroying the game for us, the hard-core milsim extraction shooter is turning into a mess. The only thing bsg forgot is fairies dragons a charged energy sheild and a batman grappling gun. Then it would be the same garbage as call of duty or battlefield. I wish you cried about this more than you've cried about everything else. Nikita has shown himself to be utterly incompetent for many many years now. No matter how much he's scrambling to steer the ship, he will fuck it up. I guarantee it. Same with the UI and optimization devs. There's a good reason why the UI is as bad as it is. That's the best they can do. They are happy with their product and confused on how to improve on it. It's still shocking to me how all these obvious QoL UI changes in ABI just aren't obvious to BSG at all. And ABI still has a clunky UI, just nowhere near as awful as Tarkov.

@@ImmoralKoala He doesn't know. He doesn't use it. He probably thinks Unreal is the best engine ever made and definitely not filled with bloat that can cripple performance on larger games.
